Rise Baking Company Human Resource Specialist in Colton, California

Job Purpose

Provide the HR team with administrative, operational, and technical support for the day-to-day human resource functions. Serve as coordinator and first point of contact for hourly production recruiting.

Essential Functions

• Maintain human resource information system records through timely entering of new hires, employee status changes, and terminations; compile employee reports as needed; maintain employee filing system

• Assist with various human resource programs, projects, and administrative support (e.g., maintain personnel files; utilize I-9 tracker; assemble recruiting, new hire, and orientation packets; process employment applications;

administer security badge access program; process terminations; and process vendor invoices)

• Partner with management to identify production hourly recruiting needs; process job requisitions and develop and implement effective recruiting plans, including attending hourly job fairs and organizing in-house recruiting

events

• Fully utilize applicant tracking system for sourcing, recruiting, reporting, and tracking candidate status

• Efficiently screen applications, conduct phone screens with qualified candidates, and assist with scheduling interviews

• Create and deliver offers of employment; administer appropriate pre-employment assessments and reference/background checks

• Coordinate, schedule, and conduct interactive and timely new hire orientation and onboarding to welcome, train, and retain new employees

• Assist with employee recognition and incentives, employee referral bonus, and safety bonus programs

• Assist with basic employee relations, benefits, payroll, and other human resource related questions, escalating to HR Generalist/Manager as needed

• Maintain compliance with federal and state employment notifications and posters

• Manage HR office supplies (order, inventory) and coordinate maintenance of office equipment as needed

• Assist with distribution of incoming/outgoing mail including mail merge for mass mailings

• Provide effective, efficient, friendly, and professional customer service (email, phone, in person) to all clients, employees, managers, and applicants

• Comply with all food safety requirements, training, policies, and procedures

• Perform other job-related duties as assigned

Qualifications (Education, Experience, Competencies)

• Associate’s degree in human resources or related field or equivalent education, training, and experience; Bachelor’s degree preferred

• 2+ years of experience in a human resource high volume recruiting role

• PHR or other HR certification preferred

• Functional knowledge of federal and state regulations pertaining to employment

• Functional knowledge of various human resource specialized skills, e.g., compensation, benefits, payroll

• Experience with a fast-growing manufacturing company preferred

• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills; experience with HRIS, preferably ADP

• Strong communication skills, including the ability to effectively communicate with all levels of the company

• Ability to appropriately handle sensitive and confidential information

• Detail oriented with the ability to multi-task, manage changing priorities, and work well under pressure

• Cultural competency; experience/ability to work and interact effectively with a diverse, multicultural audience

• Ability to work a flexible schedule including various shifts as needed
