QTEC Aerospace SYSTEMS ENGINEER in Colorado Springs, Colorado

QTEC Aerospace is seeking a SYSTEMS ENGINEER to join our team of professionals in Colorado Springs, CO. The successful candidate will become part of a team of professionals representing both industry and government in support of a Missile Defense System (MDS) with a mission of protecting the United States and our allies. The successful candidate will be detail oriented, have a proven track record and a positive work ethic.

Job Summary

QTEC Aerospace is looking for highly capable and motivated individuals. The successful candidate will function as an integral member of a multi-contractor team providing program, engineering, and technical support to Missile Defense programs. This is an on-site position.

Job Duties/Responsibilities

Responsibilities will include, but may not be limited to the following:

Use case development and prepare systems engineering artifacts including definition of Epics and Features to be developed by program Cross-Functional Product Teams to implement customer requested capabilities Support the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, system engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews Provide use case development support to junior systems engineering team members to enhance use case skills in the department Reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis

Minimum Education and Experience

Bachelors degree with at least 9 years of experience or equivalent or an advanced degree with at least 7 years of experience or equivalent

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Must possess the ability to be part of an integrated team tasked with developing and maintaining the physical, functional. and technical requirements baselines necessary to describe the desired capabilities of an evolving MDS system Demonstrated experience in mission analysis with skill in developing use cases, sequence diagrams, and SysML modeling in support of Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Skills-generating system/element level functional, performance, and interface specifications to document and control the achievement of the desired capabilities Skills in Requirements elicitation, derivation, and decomposition to lower-level subsystems and components Experience in the maintenance of system and component baselines in a requirement management system Experience defining the relationships between internal and external components Experience communicating system-level use cases and associated Epics and Feature relationships to a diverse group of customers, developers, engineers, subject matter experts, and users Must have the ability to be flexible to support various tasks on short notice Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams, and prepare and brief presentations to the customer as needed Self-starter with ability to work both independently and in a team environment

Desired Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

Experience with Agile Methods and Epic and Feature definition Skills in logical architecture modeling, interface definition, and knowledge of cyber security concepts and security accreditation Experience in the Space Domain and with Missile Defense Systems Active DoD 8570.01-M IAT Level II (Security+ or equivalent) with Continuing Education (CE)

Security Clearance

Candidates must currently have a minimum DoD SECRET level security clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD TOP SECRET/SCI level security clearance.

Salary Range

$160,000 - $224,000

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employ es to share in company results.
