What We’re Doing

Our Team, the Command and Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) Global team, is engineering, developing and integrating new capability for the Missile Defense System that currently protects the United States and its allies. The team, as a whole, is very large but is broken down into many smaller agile teams that work together in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Our team is also, responsible for tasks such as Sensor/Weapon Integration, Algorithm Development, User Interface Development, Automated Testing, Cyber Security and enhancing other critical, leading-edge missile defense technologies.

The Work

In this incredibly important role you will be:

- Supporting the development and review of interface documents, system requirements, Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) development, architectural documentation, engineering estimates, and author and perform formal and informal engineering reviews.

- Works with the enterprise test architect to enable system sell off of capabilities as required.

- Responsibilities include adhering to DOORS processes and procedures, reviewing the content and details of technical products, and acting as a technical interface to MDA working level counterparts on an as-required basis.

This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

This position will involve around 10% travel to our customer sites throughout the U.S

Basic Qualifications:

-A final TS is required prior to starting, and eligibility to obtain an TS/SCI.

- An understanding of systems engineering process and principles.

- A proven track record of successfully applying system engineering principles to develop product solutions.

- Experience working in an integrated team environment with other systems, software and specialty engineers to develop solutions.

- Experience developing system engineering artifacts (e.g. specifications, Interface Control Documents, Use Cases, System Architecture Descriptions, Trade Studies, etc.).

-Candidates should also have experience in with developing large, complex software systems.

Desired Skills:

- Experience working within an Agile development environment, domain experience with both Space and Missile Defense, experience with Systems Analysis, Model Based System Engineering, Architecture development, Virtualization, Containerization, and Cloud Computing principles.

- Demonstrated experience working large multi-site software development efforts including external interface development

- Demonstrated experience executing under Federal Acquisition Regulations including Operational Concept development, Requirements, System Decomposition, Standards Compliance, Design, Implementation and Selloff

- Demonstrated experience conducting or leading Analysis of Alternatives, Trade Studies and/or Design Evaluations

- Familiarity with cyber, platform and network architecture technologies, dependencies and design drivers

-Experience designing large command and control and/or weapon systems

- Experience processing radar sensor data

- Experience with near real time processing, persistence and distributed user community

-MDA based SCI

- Excellent communications skills are required (written and oral) as is the ability to communicate effectively and clearly present technical approaches and findings.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week

Pay Rate:

The annual base salary range for this position in California and New York (excluding most major metropolitan areas), Colorado, Hawaii, Maryland, Washington or Washington DC is $118,100 - $226,400. For states not referenced above, the salary range for this position will reflect the candidate’s final work location. Please note that the salary information is a general guideline only. Lockheed Martin considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/ training, key skills as well as market and business considerations when extending an offer.

(Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays. Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays. PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.

This position is incentive plan eligible.
