Systems and Database Senior

A hybrid telework schedule will be considered for this position; hybrid is defined as a pre-determined blend of working from home and in the office. This job is eligible for relocation assistance to aid with the costs of relocating to the Colorado Springs area.

As a Systems and Database Senior on our IT Infrastructure Team, you will ensure that our systems function and meet the needs of the organization, our employees, and ultimately, the services we provide to our community.

As an experienced Systems and Database Senior, you will be challenged as you use your knowledge to provide and drive a strategic vision that embraces Cyber Security and Business Functionality. In this job, you will be responsible for designing, administering, and implementing diverse platforms including Windows and Linux Systems in both Physical and Virtual environments.

We are seeking individuals who are collaborative, willing to look at the big picture, and have the technical capabilities to move things forward. Demonstrated knowledge and experience in the following areas will be beneficial to your success:

  • Windows, Linux, and Hypervisor experience

  • HPE Servers including SimpliVity and HC380, F5 (BigIP), NetApp, DataDomain, ShoreTel, VNX, SAN, NAS, SCSI, iSCSI, HBA

  • HPE OneView, VMware, ServiceNow, Veeam

Key Areas of Focus:

  • Managing, monitoring, and responding to alerting for systems and services maintained

  • Implementing system patches and upgrades

  • Automation of system management with tools like Ansible, PowerShell, and Python

  • Monitoring of system uptime, resource baselines, and utilization with tools like SolarWinds

  • Participating in System Administration on-call rotational support roster

  • Managing virtual environments like VMware, oVirt, and OpenShift

  • TLS certificate management and installation

  • Planning and overseeing the development, installation, and maintenance of solutions

  • Providing technical advice, requirements, specifications, and evaluations of systems purchases and replacements

Additional qualifications we are seeking:

  • Responsible experience with Windows and/or Linux Administration

  • Experience with managing VMware environments

  • Experience with Veeam Backup & Replication

  • Excellent written skills with IT-related policy and procedures

  • Excellent customer service attitude, interpersonal skills, and team player

  • Ability to analyze and problem-solve under pressure

  • Resolving vulnerability issues and system hardening

  • Detailed knowledge and understanding of IT components including Networking, SDN, Clusters, SAN/NAS storage, VMware and Veeam

  • You will be expected to participate in an on-call rotation
