Northrop Grumman in seeking a Sr. Principal Systems Engineer to join the Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis team to support the development of the Product Support Architecture Model (PSAM). Position will be located im Colorado Springs, CO or Roy, UT or Huntsville, AL. The selected candidate will get to use MBSE principles to model various processes, tools, and activities that span the Sentinel program. The successful candidate must be proficient in Cameo and have an in-depth understanding of MBSE.

What You’ll Get To Do

The Sentinel program has an exciting opportunity for a MBSE Systems Engineer responsible for ensuring and enforcing consistency on the Model-Based implementation of the architecture design. As a member of the team you will be support the development of the Product Support Architecture Model (PSAM). The selected candidate will get to use MBSE principles to model various processes, tools, and activities that span the Sentinel program. You will get the opportunity to interact with various Integrated Program Teams (IPTs) across all program segments

Specific duties to include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Interfacing with various Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) to gather all necessary data to build, update, and/or maintain the cameo models

  • Model Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) and Lifecycle Cost (LCC) processes

  • Produce required documentation associated with the PSAM

  • Conduct peer reviews to ensure that all models and associated documentation meet customer requirements

  • Serve as a mentor for less experienced MBSE Engineers

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) with a minimum of 8 years of related experience, 6 years with a master’s degree or 4 years with a PhD

  • Must be a US Citizen with an active U.S. Government DoD Top Secret security clearance at time of application, current and within scope, with an ability to obtain and maintain Special Access Program (SAP) approval within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business need

  • Proficient in Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) concepts and tools (CAMEO) – 2 Years Experience

  • Experience with Modeling, Simulation, and Analysis (MS&A) – 2 Years Experience

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Masters’ degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math related field of study

  • Experience coaching non-technical individuals with the fundamentals of MBSE

  • Experience with software development or large data management (Structured or unstructured database tools, developing metadata standards, data cleansing, version control)

  • Familiarity with large data sets and simple scripting

  • Experience working under the Agile SAFe Framework

  • Experience as a SAFe Product Owner and/or Scrum Master

  • Experience with ICMBs

  • Excellent communication skills (written, verbal, and presentation} and ability to effectively communicate with peers

This positions standard work schedule is a 9/80. The 9/80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.

Salary Range: $124,900 - $187,300

The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
