Parsons is seeking a talented and motivated Senior Software Test Engineer to join our modeling and simulation development team. As a Software Test Engineer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the quality and reliability of our software products. You will work closely with our development team to design and execute test cases, identify and report defects, and contribute to the overall improvement of our software testing processes. What You'll Be Doing:

  • Collaborating with software developers to understand system requirements and design comprehensive test plans and test cases

  • Developing and executing test cases, analyzing results, and documenting defects, ensuring the traceability of test cases to requirements

  • Writing comprehensive bug reports and working closely with the development team to reproduce, debug, and resolve defects

  • Automating test cases using C++ and Python and maintaining test automation scripts

  • Conducting regression tests to verify the stability of software releases

  • Participating in peer reviews and providing feedback on design and test documentation

  • Continuously improving testing processes and methodologies

  • Staying up to date with industry best practices and emerging testing technologies

  • Providing support and mentorship to the Junior level test engineers.

What Required Skills You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, Information Technology, or a related field from an accredited institution

  • 10+ years of experience as a Software Test Engineer or similar role

  • Strong understanding of software testing principles and methodologies

  • Strong programming skills in C++ and Python

  • Excellent problem-solving and debugging skills

  • Strong communication and teamwork skills

  • U.S. citizen with the ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

What Desired Skills You'll Bring:

  • Proficiency in test case design, execution, and defect reporting

  • Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git/GitLab)

  • Familiarity with modeling and simulation concepts

Salary Range:

$117,000.00 - $210,600.00
