Job Description

A company in the Colorado Springs, CO area is looking for a Software Test Engineer to join their team in support of classified programs for Missile Tracking and Prediction. The position will sit onsite at Schriever Space Force Base. This candidate will

support the development of modeling and simulation of Overhead Persistent Infrared (OPIR) systems. Responsibilities will include designing, testing, analyzing, benchmarking, validation and verification, documentation, and integrating simulation products.

The candidate will need proficiency in Linux operating systems, and have working knowledge of C++ and Java source code. The position involves testing new capabilities, documenting new features, and analyzing simulation performance, as well as working with the product and development teams, external users and customers to determine acceptance criteria for new features in support of modeling and simulation of missile defense systems.

This is a contract to hire for a large aerospace and defense technology company in Colorado Springs, CO.

Pay Range: $91,200 - $136,800 annually. Exact compensation will vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefits are available on day one of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave as applicable by state law.

Skills and Requirements

• Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics)

• 2-5+ years of related experience, or a Master's Degree in a STEM discipline and 3 years of related experience

• Active DoD secret level clearance or higher

• Understanding of software development and Linux platforms

• Experience with both C++ and Java source code (ability to read/modify code)

• Knowledge or experience in one (or more) of the following domains: missile defense, command and control, modeling and simulation development - Knowledge/experience in SQL queries

• Experience with OPIR system simulations

• Experience in agile software development methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe)

• Experience with large code base M&S systems using an optimistic and/or conservative discrete event simulation platform

• Experience with Atlassian tools such as JIRA, confluence, and GIT null
