Focus on the Family Parenting & Youth Regional Rep in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Regional Rep, Parenting and Youth position exists to direct the sustained collaboration among multiple influential and widely varied organizations, including churches, in single communities to create awareness, market, and launch Raising Highly Capable Kids (RHCK) which will ultimately result in tangible positive transformation by serving communities and strengthening families. This position also exists to inject FOF content/programs/resources and other relationship services into community transformation activities whenever appropriate, and by so doing, position FOF/RK as a vital partner in the collaboration effort. The Regional Rep position exists to provide training, resources, and on-going support to communities they serve.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

  • Develops and maintains personal relationships and strategic alliances with influential leaders of various organizations within local communities such as churches, non-profits, educational institutions, local governments, and businesses for the purpose of introducing them to the family resources and help available from RezilientKidz (RK) and FOTF

  • Directs and facilitates collaborative interaction among various organizations to promote, prepare and train each community for a successful program launch

  • Participates in the collaborative effort by promoting RK/FOF content/programs/resources whenever appropriate

  • Facilitates and participates in the facilitation of community collaboration through new and established relationships to increase the efficacy of RHCK

  • Participates in RK/FOF Donor events to promote program efforts and initiatives

  • Promotes the various activities, methods, and results of RHCK initiatives in their prescribed region

  • Develops, through focused research, an awareness and sensitivity to the unique cultures of each individual community including current and historical demographics, attitudes, economics, and behaviors in preparation for engagement in those communities

  • Represents RK/FOF in general and Parenting and Youth initiatives specifically through various public speaking opportunities, including trainings related to all RK/FOTF curricula and programs

  • As directed, assists others in the ministry to recruit groups and individuals who may be interested in training RK/FOF content/programs in their local communities

  • Maintains, through ongoing educational opportunities such as reading/research, symposiums/conferences, etc, a thorough and up-to-date understanding of the state of the family and the challenges facing it in the culture

  • Understands all aspects of RHCK including, but not limited to, history, implementation, policies, and procedures, tracking and program efficacy

  • Provides training, support and evaluation to Community Champions and Facilitators in implementation of RHCK program through on-going observation

  • Reports each community’s progress and challenges for solution seeking collaboration

    Other Duties/Responsibilities:

  • May be required to read, speak, and write in Spanish fluently

  • Attends local functions on behalf of FOF executives

  • Maintains awareness of FOF corporate policies

  • Prepares and files, in electronic document format, narrative of community interactions to ensure ongoing continuity

  • Performs other duties, including but not limited to duties as assigned, some of which may include the development and creation of a variety of copyrightable works (e.g., print, photography, film, music, visual arts, etc.) for distribution in any and all media and formats (such as television, radio, internet, wireless, DVD, satellite and digital) on a world-wide basis, all of which shall be for the benefit of Focus on the Family.

    Managerial Breadth/Scope of Job:

  • May serve as “lead” for meeting facilitation

  • May provide training for RK’s Regional Reps

  • Reports issues, concerns, and noteworthy items to the program director

    Working Environment/Physical Requirements:

  • Office environment

  • Travels several days per week to various events and communities around the country

  • This role may require occasional travel including nights and weekends

    This is a position of responsibility as defined in the Focus on the Family moral policy and is subject to the parameters defined therein regarding divorce

    This role is considered a Spokesperson for Focus on the Family and should represent Focus’ position and tone at all times

    Knowledge/Experience:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, marketing, advertising, communications, public relations, or related field

  • 3-5 years of broad experience including such professions as counseling (for relational skills) and marketing/sales for "influencing" skills, ministry experience preferred

  • Must be familiar with the needs of small business entrepreneurs and executives of large corporations

  • In-depth knowledge of FOF philosophy, mission, values, and objectives

  • Excellent listening skills and exhibits the ability to understand what others are communicating

  • Highly polished verbal skills; clarity of expression, good organization of thoughts and effective articulation

  • Ability to execute against channel strategy

    Stewardship Requirements:

  • Keeps accurate accounting of all resources; submits accurate reports in timely manner

  • Responsible for all travel arrangements and expense submissions

    Salary Range: $70,716 to $81,117/yr
