Job Description

HII Mission Technologies is seeking a qualified candidate to join our esteemed C5ISR team in Colorado Springs, CO, and support our valued NORTHCOM customer. The ideal candidate should possess extensive experience in various modeling and simulation tools utilized across the Department of Defense (DoD). The NORTHCOM/NORAD Virtual Training Modeling and Simulations Engineer will be responsible for leading the development and implementation of modeling and simulation technologies for Virtual Training. They will work closely with military personnel to design and execute training exercises that integrate air, sea, land, space, and cyber military operations.

Essential Job Responsibilities

  • Ability to articulate NORAD/NORTHCOM fielding requirements for new M&S systems and upgrades to current systems.

  • Attends meetings, workshops, and conferences to gather information for Global multi-Combatant Command Exercises and make M&S system recommendations necessary to match specific system capabilities to wargame and exercise requirements by coordinating or creating the associated scenario databases and ensuring NORAD/NORTHCOM data and requirements are integrated into the appropriate systems.

  • Develop and implement modeling and simulation technologies for Virtual Training.

  • Work closely with military personnel to design and execute training exercises that integrate air, sea, land, space, and cyber military operations.

  • Work witha team of simulation engineers to ensure the successful execution of training exercises.

  • Analyze military operations and develop wargaming scenarios.

  • Manage the Virtual Training Center and ensure that it meets the needs of military personnel.

  • Stay up-to-date with the latest modeling and simulation technologies and incorporate them into Virtual Training.

  • Assesses representation in the virtual environment and provides recommendations for improvement and additional realism. Applies analytical techniques in the evaluation of models and simulations.

  • Support/planning for 1-2 large wargames and 2 x Tier-1 exercises

  • Self-starter with the ability to independently review strategic documents, incorporate strategic guidance into M&S system recommendations, and communicate guidance and recommendations to stakeholders with a variety of backgrounds

  • Will require travel

Minimum Qualifications

5 years relevant experience with Bachelors in related field; 3 years relevant experience with Masters in related field; 0 years experience with PhD or Juris Doctorate in related field; or High School Diploma or equivalent and 9 years relevant experience.

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of experience in modeling and simulation technologies.

  • Experience in developing and implementing comprehensive virtual training centers with wargaming enterprises.

  • Knowledge of military operations and training exercises.

  • TS/SCI security clearance.

Preferred Requirements

  • Master's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience working with NORTHCOM/NORAD.

  • Experience in analyzing military operations and developing wargaming scenarios.

  • Knowledge of the latest modeling and simulation technologies.

  • Battle Control System - Fixed (BCS-F) experience

  • Real Time Analytical Platform (RTAP) experience

  • Joint Integrated Missile Defense and Warning Training System (JIMDTS) experience

  • Distributed Mission Operations (DMO) experience

  • Air Warfare Simulation (AWSIM) experience

  • Familiarity with Object-Oriented Programming, Python, C++ - for Advanced Framework for Simulation, Integration, and Modeling (AFSIM) software

  • IT background (Net+, Sec+, A+, ITIL) to facilitate technical aspects of the Joint Live Virtual Constructive (JLVC) environment

  • 2+ years Instructor/Evaluator Experience

Physical Requirements

May require working in an office, industrial, shipboard, or laboratory environment. Capable of climbing ladders and tolerating confined spaces and extreme temperature variances.

Travel in supporting of Training Exercises required.
