Essential Functions and Objectives
  • Leading a Classroom:
  • Overseeing a toddler room (ages 12 months to 36 months) or an infant room (ages 6 weeks to 18 months).
  • Managing and collaborating with up to three assistants, depending on room requirements and staff schedules.

  • Creating a Positive Environment:

  • Fostering a nurturing and positive environment that supports the growth and development of children.

  • Communication and Collaboration:

  • Maintaining open lines of communication with staff and parents to create a positive atmosphere for children.
Duties and Responsibilities
  • Supervision and Care:
  • Supervising play areas, maintaining logs and reports, and ensuring children's safety.
  • Assisting with lunch, lunch clean-up, naptime, and snack time based on shift hours.

  • Housekeeping:

  • Performing housekeeping duties to maintain a clean and safe environment.

  • Compliance and Training:

  • Attending required orientations, training sessions, and staff meetings.
  • Ensuring adherence to the Colorado Department of Human Services Child Care policies and procedures.
Licensure & Certification
  • State Requirements:
  • Compliance with specific requirements from the State of Colorado, detailed in the school's application process.

  • Preferred Certifications:

  • AMI or AMS Infant Toddler certification is highly preferred.
Education & Experience
  • Experience:
  • A minimum of two years of experience in Early Childhood Education, in accordance with Colorado regulations (7.702).

  • Qualifications:

  • Must be Toddler Lead qualified by the State of Colorado (CRS 7.702.47).
  • Must be able to obtain First Aid, CPR, and Universal Precautions certification.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent is preferred.

**Preferred additional qualifications: -RN License, Associate Degree, CDA, CCP, PDIS Level III, or 12 semester hours in ECE as per Colorado regulations may be required.

Knowledge & Other Qualifications
  • Background Checks:
  • Successful completion of CBI (Colorado) and FBI (Federal) background checks is mandatory.

  • Skills:

  • Positive interaction with children and adults.
  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to build relationships with diverse individuals and organizations.
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, and good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to routinely lift 40+ pounds.
  • Dependability and punctuality.
