Position Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) Lead to spearhead the application of model-based systems engineering methodologies on the Enterprise OPIR Solution (EOS) contract. The MBSE Lead will guide the development and management of system models, ensuring alignment with program objectives and compliance with DoD standards. This role requires a combination of technical expertise, leadership capabilities, and proficiency in MBSE tools and processes.

Please note, this position is contingent upon successful capture of the EOS contract.

Primary Responsibilities

  • MBSE Leadership:

  • Develop and implement the MBSE strategy and framework for the EOS program

  • Lead a team of systems engineers in creating, managing, and maintaining system models using MBSE tools and methodologies

  • Establish best practices, standards, and processes for MBSE implementation across the program lifecycle

  • System Architecture Development:

  • Develop and refine system architecture models, including functional, logical, and physical views

  • Conduct trade studies, simulations, and performance analyses using system models to support decision-making

  • Ensure system models are traceable to requirements and aligned with technical baselines and Interface Control Documents (ICDs)

  • Collaboration and Integration:

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including software, hardware, and integration teams, to ensure model integration and validation

  • Provide MBSE expertise during technical reviews, such as SRR, PDR, and CDR

  • Act as the primary interface with customer stakeholders for MBSE-related topics

  • Tool Development and Management:

  • Implement and manage MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect

  • Train team members on MBSE tools and methodologies, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and innovation

  • Documentation and Compliance:

  • Develop and maintain detailed documentation of models and MBSE processes

  • Ensure compliance with DoD standards, including DoDAF, SysML, and MIL-STD-499

    Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum of 7 years of experience in systems engineering, with at least 4 years applying MBSE methodologies

  • Expertise in MBSE tools such as Cameo/MagicDraw, Rhapsody, or Enterprise Architect

  • Proficiency in SysML and DoDAF frameworks and standards

  • Comprehensive knowledge of satellite ground system architectures, including framework services and mission data processing

  • Proven leadership experience in managing multidisciplinary teams and complex system development projects

  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills

    Preferred Qualifications

  • Certification in systems engineering or MBSE (e.g., INCOSE CSEP, OCSMP)

  • Familiarity with Agile development processes and tools

  • Experience in the Overhead Persistent Infra-Red (OPIR) mission area

    Education/Experience

    Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline; Master’s degree preferred

    Clearance Requirement

    Active DoD Top-Secret clearance with SCI eligibility
