Position Description

Join our team as a Measurement Volume Analyst and help shape the future of North America’s energy infrastructure with a career at Kinder Morgan. Primary Purpose: Analyze and evaluate volumetric data utilizing both Measurement and the Downstream Business Systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: • For assigned metering locations, responsible for reviewing both hourly and daily volumetric and compositional data. • To ensure accurate reporting of volumes, work through various work queues to analyze and evaluate the flow of volumes. • Work with downstream business units and third party interconnecting companies regarding 3rd-Party volume data exchange. • Timely identify and resolve any measurement issue. • Work through assigned field technician, as needed, to make appropriate corrections in the measurement system • Maintain integrity of the data in both the measurement and downstream business systems • Prioritize workload to ensure that critical locations, identified by various business groups, are reviewed and completed by the designated time • Review, verify, and resolve discrepancies on assigned field calibration inspection reports • Establish and maintain effective and productive working relationships with customers • Provide timely response to volume inquiries from internal and external customers • Routinely work with team members to provide written documentation for new and/or revised department procedures and processes • Deal with a wide variety of people with tact, courtesy and professionalism • Share technical and procedural knowledge with team members as required • Assist team members in testing measurement system enhancements • Routinely produce grammatically correct reports, summaries, policies, procedures and memos • Communicate effectively (written and orally) with team members and internal/external customers • Speak clearly, both in person and by telephone, using a high level of verbal skills and listen carefully • Notify management of immediate and potential problems affecting the quality and timeliness of measurement data • Ensure personal conformity and support team decisions, departmental policies and procedures, and all mandated industry standards • Work with Measurement Manager and Supervisor to set goals, tactics and time lines • Other daily, weekly and monthly duties as assigned by management and/or supervision • Maintain a regular, dependable attendance and high level of performance • Maintain a high regard for personal safety, the safety of company assets and employees, and the general public • May be required to work non-traditional hours and occasional overtime • Occasional but infrequent travel may be required, including overnight and/or weekend travel

Position Requirements

Education:

  • High school diploma or equivalent necessary.

  • Associates degree required.

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Experience / specific knowledge:

  • Must have strong math and analytical background/skills

  • Good working knowledge of computers

  • Natural Gas Measurement experience preferred but not required. Certifications, licenses, registrations:

  • Must possess and maintain a valid driver license and a driving record satisfactory to the company and its insurers (for travel). Competencies, skills, and abilities:

  • Intermediate to advanced proficiency level in Windows 2000 and XP, and Microsoft applications, including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word and Access

  • Sound problem solving and analytical skills, including ability to make solid business decisions based upon a mixture of analysis, wisdom, experience and judgment

  • Ability to organize daily activities to ensure timely completion of assigned job responsibilities

  • Must be able to set priorities, and spend work time on what is important, eliminating roadblocks and creating efficiencies

  • Must display strong communication skills (i.e., well developed written and verbal communication)

  • Ability to deal effectively with ambiguity and shift gears quickly, including smooth transition from one activity to another

  • Ability to adapt and adjust to change

  • Must be able to consistently demonstrate a positive attitude toward work assignments and team members (team player)

  • Ability to successfully perform multiples tasks, often with strict or changing deadlines

  • Ability to accomplish specific, measurable goals, and to “see the big picture” coupled with a desire to add value to Kinder Morgan

  • Must be able to work with a team, take direction from supervisor(s), focus attention on details, follow work rules, and adhere to established work schedules

  • Ability to identify, understand and meet/exceed expectations in an employee/employer relationship

  • Ability to perform the required and expected duties with minimal supervision

The successful candidate will be required to clear a drug screen and a complete background check after an offer has been extended and prior to being employed.

Pay range is $64,000 - $97,400 per year. This position includes a discretionary annual incentive plan. Job level and pay commensurate with experience and skill set.
