Job Summary

Galapagos Federal Systems LLC is seeking an enthusiastic and highly skilled professional to fill a Level 3 Information Technology System Administrator position, responsible for managing complex IT infrastructure, including server systems, networks, and applications. This role supports DoD classified programs, oversees day-to-day operations, and ensures the functionality and security of network systems at classified and compartmented security levels.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate expertise in system and network operations, including installing and maintaining LAN and WAN servers, troubleshooting system anomalies, preparing systems for operational use, and mitigating AIS vulnerabilities through countermeasures. This role requires advanced troubleshooting skills, experience with large-scale upgrades, and a strong understanding of system architecture, security protocols, and disaster recovery planning.

A proven track record in managing cybersecurity operations and maintaining compliance with Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF) standards is essential. Additionally, the candidate should excel in collaboration with Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), Officers (ISSOs), and Engineers (ISSEs) to enhance the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of critical systems.

Compensation Minimum: $135,000

Compensation Maximum: $145,000

Job Requirements:

Skills / Experience Required

  • Maintain a current DoD Top Secret security clearance with eligibility for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI)
  • Consent to and successfully complete a Government Counterintelligence Scope Polygraph, as required
  • 10+ years of hands-on experience in Department of Defense roles, showcasing a proven track record of excellence and expertise
  • Possess 4+ years of experience in a Special Access Program (SAP) and/or SCI environment within the last five years
  • Execute day-to-day management, operations, and maintenance of systems and networks, including cybersecurity operations for Collateral, SCI, and SAP activities, while maintaining compliance with the Joint SAP Implementation Guide (JSIG) and Risk Management Framework (RMF)
  • Create and utilize daily, weekly, monthly, and yearly O&M checklists to maintain IT services; develop Tactics, Techniques, and Procedures (TTPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for operational efficiency
  • Manage and operate enterprise Security Information and Event Management (SIEM) tools to create complex event alarms and summary reports while monitoring security incidents and residual risk
  • Analyze technical risks of emerging cybersecurity tools and processes to contribute to a security incident response team
  • Assist in assessing the security of servers, network devices, and security appliances, ensuring accuracy and efficiency
  • Manage commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) and government off-the-shelf (GOTS) products to monitor, display, and remediate system security and operational performance metrics
  • Assist in designing and analyzing network models to contribute to hardware and software procurement for infrastructure upgrades
  • Exhibit expertise in systems such as Microsoft Windows Server, Red Hat Enterprise Linux, MS Hyper-V/VMWare, enterprise networking/firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, scripting, database security, and more, including familiarity with tools like SIEMs, ACAS/Nessus/SCAP, and LogRhythm
  • Support Information System Security Managers (ISSMs), Officers (ISSOs), and Engineers (ISSEs) to develop and implement techniques enhancing system confidentiality, integrity, and availability
  • Demonstrate the ability to operate independently with minimal supervision in dynamic and secure environments Education / Certifications

  • Master's degree: MA, MS or ME

  • Equivalent work experience may be considered in lieu of education
