Job Summary: Recommend, install, maintain, modify, operate, and repair commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning equipment and systems.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Perform annual maintenance on all District HVAC equipment. Perform regular facilities safety inspections. Investigate and analyze problems with pneumatic, electric, and direct digital controls. Maintain all District heating, ventilating, and air conditioning equipment and systems. Perform emergency repairs as needed. Develop, implement, and maintain preventive maintenance programs for all District HVAC equipment and systems. Repair or replace electric motors and controls used in HVAC systems. Maintain, inspect, analyze, and repair flame safeguard systems on boilers and roof-mounted gas fired heating equipment. Install upgrades to equipment and systems to maximize efficiency and safety. Cut, bend, thread, ream, assemble, caulk, solder, and weld various pipes, metal fittings, and joints. Inspect, supervise, and approve contract work to ensure compliance with building codes, safety codes, and accepted industry practices. Recommend and support equipment and supply purchases. Coordinate projects with other trades. Replace pump seals, motors, tube bundles, etc. Perform other duties as assigned. Education, Training and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent, plus post-secondary courses equivalent to one year of college in HVAC repair and maintenance. Over three years' experience in HVAC repair and maintenance. Skills, Knowledge and Equipment: Basic math, writing, communication, and computer skills. Skilled in electrical control troubleshooting and diagnostics. Knowledge of pneumatic controls, refrigerants, and EPA regulations. Ability to operate various types of power tools, equipment, and test instruments required at hire. Certificates, Licenses and Registrations: Valid Colorado driver's license, Regional Building Code Mechanics IV license, and EPA Refrigerant Handling certification all required at hire. Criminal background check and District fingerprinting required.
