Focus on the Family Flooring & Furniture Restoration Technician in Colorado Springs, Colorado

The Floo ring & Furniture Restoration Technician position requires occasional supervision and refers questionable matters to manager, is considered an expert in cleaning, maintaining, restoring, and refurbishing all floors, furniture, and furniture systems. Uses machines and cleaning agents to maintain, clean, and renew Focus assets to assure the longest life possible of Focus assets. This position requires significant relationship- building to achieve the stated goals in cooperation with other teams.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
Diagnoses, prioritizes, and addresses cleaning needs of all ministry floors, furniture, and systems furniture
Provides direction for floor and furniture care to custodial, facilities and field services teams
Interacts with Custodial on deep cycle cleaning training and schedules
Inspects and punch lists all new flooring installations
Understands all machines, chemicals, and tools used in cleaning and care with the ability to use that information to solve cleaning issues as needed
Is aware of inoperable equipment and reports with clarity for timely repair
Maintains standard equipment and fixes minor equipment issues
Uses proper procedures to clean floors, furniture, and systems furniture
Is responsible for cyclical cleaning of floors, furniture, and systems furniture
Performs daily scrubbing of Admin Building entrances and Breeze Way with auto-scrubber as needed
Performs monthly scrubbing / burnishing of all VCT floors as needed
Performs monthly scrubbing of kitchen floors
Performs monthly scrubbing of garage floors with auto-scrubber
Performs annual encapsulation of all carpets
Performs annual extraction of all carpets
Performs annual deep scrub of all tile and grout
Performs annual scrub on all rubber stair coverings in stairwells
Strips, refinishes all VCT flooring every two years or as needed
Spot cleans all carpets as needed
Pressure washes all entrance mats as needed
Cleans all chairs, couches, and systems furniture panels with extractor as needed
Assists safety team in routine documentation
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
Must have reliable transportation
Considered a go-to expert on equipment and procedures
Expected to coordinate with custodial team to accomplish position goals
Assist Field Services team with cubicle reconfiguration as needed
Assist Field Services team with pulling network cabling as needed
Assist Field Services team with periodic movement of computer, printer, and phone equipment as needed
Assists with general facility maintenance as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Working Environment/Physical Requirements:
Must be able to pass a Post Offer Pre-hire Physical exam
Must be able to carry up to 70lbs
Must be able to lift up to 70lbs
Must be able to push/pull up to 300lbs
Must be able to walk 7 hours/day and sit 1 hour/day
Requires repetitive tasks/motions, good eye-hand-foot coordination, and good manual dexterity
Must be able to hear alarms/phone/tape recorder/normal speaking voice
Exposure to various conditions such as cleaning chemicals, fumes, dust, and bodily waste
Frequently requires climbing, bending, kneeling, squatting, crawling, crouching, balancing, and reaching above the head

Personal Characteristics:
Must be detail oriented, dependable, self-motivated, and team focused
Must have an even temperament that allows for working in a high-pressure, high-visibility environment
Knowledge/Experience:
High School or equivalent
FOTF custodial certification/JWP Power Tools Training
CMI Basic Custodial Training Program with passing grades
12-18 months experience as Custodian II
Must have basic understanding of construction drawings
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
Ability to read and write the English language to comprehend direction
Ability to read and follow printed and verbal instructions
Ability to establish and maintain rapport with employees in other departments
Ability to work independently with very little immediate supervision
Ability to operate various custodial trade power and hand tools
Ability to follow directions and keep detailed, accurate records
Ability to maintain a cool and calm demeanor under pressure
Strong mechanical aptitude
Pay Range: $16.00 to $18.25/hr
