Leader Communications Inc. Facility Engineer in Colorado Springs, Colorado
Position Summary
The Systems Engineer will provide engineering support to all computer and network systems. Performs upgrades, as well as systemic and infrastructure additions, moves, or changes. Use standard programming languages, applicable application design standards, and best business practices. Perform systems administration, database builds, reorganizations, maintenance, tuning, backups and restorations, query design, application development, deployment, and webmaster services in support of a wide array of applications and websites.
Individual must be able to attain and maintain a valid US Government security clearance to be retained in the position.
Duties & Responsibilities
Sketches and engineer outline of systems using FPGA and DSP devices.
Formulates and engineer outlay designs for communications systems according to guidelines.
Develop communication strategies using C and Mat lab.
Institutes and delegate systems requirements to procurement units.
Analyzes system requirements, profits, and equipment.
Devises systems engineering methodologies.
Ensures compliance with industry norms while designing for FCC and EMI mitigation.
Provides competence in diverse areas of project handling.
Utilizes research and analysis techniques for quality control.
Oversees task completion and issue resolution.
Provides high-quality communication and managerial services.
Utilizes the automated work order system, to track and work customer requests.
Provides facility engineering support to the overall physical security of NEC facilities and with the preparation of, and tracking to completion of the DPW work orders.
Provide recommendations for updating or changing facility plans.
Monitors, responds and takes corrective actions to all alarmed systems, including voice communications infrastructure, trunked radio system, and communications facility environmental controls.
Operates and maintains infrastructure equipment within the Data Center to include power, backup power, UPS, Generators, and Battery systems.
Ensures all services/tests are scheduled and documented for backup generators, UPS, and HVAC units, fire detection, access control, and surveillance systems; coordinates with DPW
Follows the call escalation process for all Data Center infrastructure outages.
Installs Automatic Data Processing Equipment (ADPE) equipment.
Ensure completion of the appropriate electrical/power analysis and compliance of wiring and installation practices with safety policies as well as installation and engineering standards.
Coordinate with vendors for operations and maintenance.
Adhere to physical security policy, access control measures, and other applicable procedures, policies, and regulations.
Ensure the security of the NEC facilities and parking lots by regular physical site inspections and maintain accountability for building/office keys.
Supervises a team of multi-disciplined professionals.
Provides advanced expertise and proven experience in at least two of the IT help desk, network and system operations, support, radio communications, antenna/tower communications, and telecommunications.
Strong and effective written and verbal communication skills coupled with excellent interpersonal and team skills.
Excellent leadership and management skills.
Track the cumulative heat and electrical load in the data center, remote switching unit facilities and telecommunications closets.
Must be detail and safety-oriented.
Perform other duties as required.

Education & Experience Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Engineering related field
7 years of technical experience
DoD Programs experience
Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance; you must be a US Citizen for consideration.
Clearance Level: Secret
Certification: CompTIA Security+ or higher
