Description of Duties:

The Facilities BIM Technician / Drafter supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:

· Support the engineering team on the design efforts of building infrastructure architecture, mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems. Support efforts will be in compliance with current engineering codes and principles, relevant specifications, and customer requirements.

· Independently update existing BIM files using Autodesk Revit software.

· Document and coordinate implementation of building systems upgrades, repairs, and remodeling projects.

· Conduct site surveys to confirm that drawings are accurate and to make appropriate drawing updates to reflect site conditions as required.

· Document design changes that occur during implementation to ensure the final drawings incorporate design changes.

· The BIM Tech will assist during project closeout by working closely with the project team members to ensure all actions pertaining to drawings and support documentation are completed within the project's deadlines.

· Prepare drawing submittals for Facilities projects.

· Gather and submit quarterly, bi-yearly and yearly documentation required per the contract.

· This candidate must have a solid understanding of mechanical and/or electrical building infrastructure systems and have independent experience designing either or both of these types of systems.

This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.

This position is expected to pay $55,000 - $80,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

This position will be posted for a minimum of 3 days. If a candidate has not been selected at that time, it will continue to be posted until a suitable candidate is selected or the position is closed.

Here’s what you’ll need :

Basic Requirements:

Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 8 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 6 years of general experience; Bachelor’s degree and 4 years of general experience; Master’s degree and 2 years of general experience

· Must have 4 years of directly related experience.

· This candidate must have a basic understanding of building infrastructure systems

· Must have experience using computer aided drafting (CAD) and/or modeling applications.

· Must be proficient with Microsoft Office Programs.

· Must be comfortable with reading CAD drawings.

· Must be able to climb ladders.

· Must be able to lift 40lbs.

· Must be able to work below raised floors.

· Must have, or obtain, an active DOD Secret Security Clearance.

Desired Requirements:

· Have experience in Architectural, Mechanical and/or Electrical design for construction and maintenance projects within a DOD environment.

· Be familiar with Autodesk Revit and/or AutoCAD.

· Familiarity with engineering codes and principles, and relevant specifications.
