Defense Unicorns Events Specialist in Colorado Springs, Colorado

Role Description: As the Event Specialist at Defense Unicorns, you will be dedicated to organizing impactful meetings, conferences, and events that uphold our company's mission and vision while fostering connections among both our Unicorns and external partners.

Responsibilities: Plan, organize, and execute large-scale meetings, conferences, and events for both internal and external partners, ensuring seamless operations from inception to completion. Uphold the company's brand, mission, and vision with every event Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand event objectives and design experiences that align with company goals and branding. Evaluate, negotiate, and manage relationships with vendors and suppliers to secure services and products at competitive prices without compromising quality. Draft and review service contracts in collaboration with the legal team, ensuring all terms and conditions are accurately represented and protect the company's interests. Coordinate and manage communications with attendees, speakers, and client stakeholders before, during, and after events, providing necessary information and ensuring a smooth experience. Develop and maintain event budgets, track expenses, and provide regular reports to ensure cost-effectiveness and adherence to financial targets. Implement strategies to enhance event efficiency, streamline processes, and improve attendee satisfaction. Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and technologies to incorporate innovative ideas into event planning and execution. Build and nurture strong relationships with vendors, venues, and partners to facilitate ongoing collaborations and secure favorable terms for future even Travel Expectations/Requirements: 20%-30%

Preferred Experience and Qualifications: Proven experience in event coordination, preferably within the tech or defense industry or a fast-paced environment. Strong organizational and multitasking skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities to interact effectively with diverse stakeholders, including vendors, clients, and internal teams. Demonstrated negotiation skills and the ability to evaluate, select, and manage vendor relationships effectively. An understanding of legal aspects related to event planning and execution. Creative mindset with a focus on business-driven outcomes, capable of translating ideas into successful event experiences. Experience in Marketing Automation tools for lead processing, email marketing, and reporting - Hubspot preferred. Detail-oriented approach with a keen eye for budget management and financial accountability. Proficiency in event management software/tools and Microsoft Office suite. Full compensation packages are based on candidate experience. Compensation ranges are established using national benchmarking data and apply across all geographic locations within the United States.
