Compensation (Pay): $76,400 to $110,780 annually, based on experience.

    Job Summary: This position is responsible for the direct supervision of the Grants Department, with th e primary focus on the development of competitive grants in response to government and private sector offerings. The position will provide oversight of research, grant preparation and submission, and the subsequent reporting of all grant funding awarded. Included within this oversight is compliance of funded programs with funder requirements and expectations , including data collection, performance tracking and analysis, and internal monthly reporting. Will coordinate and facilitate planning and implementation of meetings for grant funded projects as appropriate and supports and interprets guidance for staff and leadership as needed. The position provides direct support for external partners , Clinical VPs and Executives as required by the SVP of Health Center Programs.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Proactively research, target, and pursue grant funding opportunities that align with Peak Vista's mission and values.

  • Collaborates with Clinical and Administrative Departments for grant seeking in support of both internal programming and community-based activities.

  • Oversees all components of the submission of successful grant proposals including proposal writing, editing, budget, financial presentations and any additional items required by the grant.

  • Assists and monitors Grant Writers in the management of the grant life cycle, as applicable.

  • Develops and maintains working knowledge of standards of practice for grant professionals in ethics, best practices, tools, skills, etc.

  • Works closely with the Senior Vice President of Health Center Programs to develop a department budget that supports the department and staff development appropriately.

  • Monitors budgets and assures department is within budget limits.

  • Participates in various teams and meetings as necessary.

  • Promotes and demonstrates the mission, vision, and Core Values of Peak Vista.

  • Develops and maintains good working relationships with all departments, the management team, medical staff, and leadership.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Demonstrates strong leadership skills, knowledge and abilities. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems. Ensures that the appropriate personnel meet all job required competencies.

    Education/Experience:

    Education: Bachelor’s degree or 6 years of applicable experience in lieu of degree required. Masters preferred

    Work Experience: Seven to ten years of experience in grant writing and developing grant proposals required. Five years of managerial experience required. Experience with federally qualified health centers and/or specific experience with federal grants from the Health Resources and Services Agency (HRSA) or other US Department of Health and Human Services agencies strongly preferred.

  • Professional writing: demonstrate mastery of grammar, style, punctuation, sentence structure, rhetoric, and editing

  • Finance : demonstrate ability to develop basic project budgets, monitor grant expenditures, and understand basic nonprofit financial concepts relevant to grant proposals

  • Software/digital platforms: demonstrate competency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), Smartsheet, and various online grant submission systems

  • Meeting facilitation: demonstrate ability to conduct effective, timely, and productive meetings with all levels of internal and external stakeholders

  • Organization: demonstrate organization by keeping detailed, highly-organized paper/digital records and files

  • Soft skills: must be diligent, adaptable, personable, proactive, and professional. Strength in analytical, pragmatic, and strategic thinking beneficial.

    Computer Skills: Intermediate ability to access the intra/internet to manage timecard, review policies and procedures, and read company communications; use e-mail to communicate with co-workers, leadership, and other departments; use and create a variety of templates, complex tables, merges; manage table data, sort and filter merges, and also perform basic work with existing Macros; customize toolbars, import and insert graphs, embed Excel data, and elaborate reports; work with multiple worksheets, filter data, use integrate functions, and manipulate databases; customize templates and the PowerPoint environment, and to make a presentation interactive by using hyperlinks and action buttons

    Certificates and Licenses: None. Grant Professional Certified (GPC) credential is preferred.
