Reference #: 4505061 THE POSITION Seeking dynamic and passionate candidates to become part of our dental staff at the Pennsylvania Department of Corrections, State Correctional Institution (SCI) at Phoenix. Our team is dedicated to ensuring a pleasant and comfortable experience for all our patients.   DESCRIPTION OF WORK In the role of a Dental Assistant at the Department of Corrections, you will collaborate closely with our skilled Dentists to deliver essential dental care to our inmate population. Your responsibilities will include providing chair side assistance to the Dentist during patient examinations and treatments, managing the scheduling of appointments and ensuring smooth patient flow on a daily basis. Additionally, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate dental records, performing dental laboratory procedures, and ensuring the proper functioning of dental office equipment. Work Schedule and Additional Information: Full-time employment (37.5-hours per week) Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with 30 minute lunch. This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55. Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Please note, Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,049.00 (before taxes). QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements: One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or An equivalent combination of experience and training. Special Requirement: Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.
