Junior Configuration Manager

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Junior Configuration Manager to join our team to assist in establishing configuration management documentation and procedures and authorize the release of documentation and software in support of large-scale government programs. As a Junior Configuration Manager, you will help to establish, develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the system engineering life cycle including software development, hardware configuration designs, migration, deployment, and security. You will also provide subject matter guidance to other team members involved in the software management lifecycle. This position requires up to 50% travel to King George, VA area.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, review, and maintain a configuration management plan for all aspects of the system development lifecycle

• Provide subject matter advice and leadership for all aspects of configuration management and report on configuration management activities

• Track and report on software releases through change requests, impact assessment, and version control

• Maintain a documentation repository to track and maintain records

• Lead software and code reviews and ensure the configuration management plan is executed

• Define provisions for configuration identification, change control, configuration status accounting and configuration audits

• Foster continuous improvement

• Authorize software releases

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field or relevant work experience

• Secret security clearance

• Four years of Configuration Management experience or related field, preferably in the government sector

• Professional experience and high-level understanding of working with various operating systems and their implications

• Experience managing complex IT projects and familiarity with risk and issue management

• Strong analytical skills and experience with configuration management tools

• Configuration Management certification desired

• Have a basic understanding of Agile, SDLC, RMF and ITIL methodologies

As a Junior Configuration Manager, you will play a critical role in ensuring the integrity of program configuration auditing, security, and tracking at every stage of the process to ensure robust and stable systems in support of critical large-scale government programs.
