Centra Sota Cooperative Ag. Equipment Operator in Cokato, Minnesota

Need 4 full time, temporary, seasonal Ag. Equipment Operators to work at locations in Wright, Sherburne, Carver, and McLeod Counties in Minnesota. From: 07/05/2024 to 12/01/2024 Work: 40 hrs./week, Mon. - Fri. 8 hrs./day. 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The hours may vary during different times of the crop season. All hours worked in excess of 48 hours in a work week will be paid at 1.5 times the regular rate of pay. Wage rate may increase with verifiable experience. Employer may reward exceptional work with monetary or other benefits in addition to those listed here in his sole discretion. Effective Jan 1, 2024, per MN State Statute, an employee will earn one hour of paid sick and safe time for every 30 hours worked, up to at least 48 hours of accrued Earned Sick and Safe Time (ESST) per year, provided the employee works a minimum of 80 hours in a calendar year. Must Apply By: 09/18/2024 JOB DESCRIPTION: Mix specified materials or chemicals, and dump solutions into agricultural equipment. Fill tanks with water, chemicals, and fertilizer according to formulas and take the tanks to the farm sites. Operate machines such as agricultural sprayers or fertilizer spreaders to fertilize and spray crops. Apply crop nutrient or crop protection products to control insects, fungus, weed growth, and diseases, to assist in the cultivation of agricultural commodities using agricultural equipment. Spread dry fertilizer using GPS-enabled agricultural equipment. Manipulate controls, nozzles, hoses, and tubes to set, activate, and adjust mechanisms on machinery to direct product over designated areas. Adjust, repair, and service farm machinery and notify supervisors when machinery malfunctions. JOB REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of 3 months of experience is required. Must be able to obtain a driver's license within 30 days of hire. Able to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 pounds. The worker will be exposed to extreme temperatures. Extensive pushing and pulling is required. Extensive sitting is required. Employer requires drug screen post hire at employer's expense due to the liability of operating equipment. Employer requires criminal background check post-hire at employers' expense due to the presence of children on the farm and expensive tools and equipment. Failure to pass drug screen and/or criminal background check will result in termination of employment. No minimum education required. EMPLOYER ASSURANCES: Work guaranteed for 3/4 of contract period, starting with date of arrival at work site. Employer provides free housing for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Employer pays inbound transportation and subsistence to work site upon 50% completion of work contract for workers whose residence is beyond normal commuting distance. Daily subsistence will be provided at a rate of at least $15.88 per day during travel to a maximum of $59.00 per day with receipts.
