Position Description Summary:

APT Research is hiring a SMASS Commercial Crew Program (CCP) Analyst to provide support for the Safety Mission Assurance Commercial Crew Office (SA-CCP). This person will provide senior level expertise in Microsoft Office, Information Technology (IT) systems, and possesses an expertise in developing unique and complex tools/graphics that streamline data collection and presentations. The support for this role will mainly focus on the SA-CCP PAA process across SMA and Commercial Crew Program to reduce level of effort between each mission.

Responsibilities:

  • Configuration management of SA-CCP PAA (process assurance actions)

  • Data analysis and tracking

  • Schedule analysis and integration

  • Technical and graphical document preparation

  • Database workflow implementation and management

  • Developing non-technical processes, procedures, and document preparation

  • PAA tracking, analysis, collecting, updating and preparing presentations that reflect PAA data across all systems

  • PAA data collection/ analyses, benchmarking, and recommending process improvement & strategies

  • Communicating and integrating request for updates from engineers on completion status of PAA assessments, record reviews and pre-trip reviews

  • Providing unique graphical solutions that portray PAA data for consistent communication for PAA

  • Develop metrics that represent PAA scheduling, execution, and completion aligned with Program milestones

  • Development of Safety & Mission Assurance Reviews and Programmatic presentation templates and updates

  • Creating ad hoc metrics and graphics for SMA or CCP Management (frequent basis) that synthesizes various PAA system, subsystem, and overall tracking by mission

  • Integrate action responses for SA-CCP Office (KSC Action Tracking System and SMA Action Tracking System)

  • Provide office records management support

  • Maintain office organizational chart and emergency contact list data across SMA, Office of Safety & Mission Assurance (OSMA), and CCP

  • Process improvements on the PAA process including but not limited to:

  • Improvements in the workflow of IT systems (JIRA)

  • Documentation of processes in Confluence

  • Improvements in the data collection and execution of PAA tools within Microsoft Office products

    Required Experience/Education:

  • Education: Accredited Bachelors Degree in a related area

  • Experience: 7 yeas of direct experience (configuration management, data analysis/pivot tables and tracking, schedule analysis and integration, technical and graphical document preparation, database design and management)

    Security Clearance Requirement:

  • Position subject to pre-employment background investigation

  • Position subject to a pre-employment drug test

  • Must be able to qualify for an unescorted badge (US Citizen required)

    Preferred Experience/ skills:

  • Proficiency with computers and standard Microsoft and/or similar applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, etc.)

  • Proficiency with Jira including creating projects, managing tickets, following project workflows, building gadgets, developing filters and dashboards, etc.

  • Experience with Confluence, Excel Pivot tables, template creation (Jira, PowerPoint, Confluence), and development of PowerPoint presentations from provided emails/documents

  • Ability to quickly understand and complete basic troubleshooting of unique IT systems

  • Ability to create workflows and develop metrics

  • Proven skills in process improvement and streamlining complex data

  • Ability to perform work independently

  • Clear, accurate, and concise verbal communication and writing skills

  • Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

    Essential Job Functions:

    Work Environment:

  • Office environment: Flight hardware processing and Ground support Testing Facilities

  • Flexible schedule with hybrid onsite and remote schedule.

  • Shift and/or weekend work occasionally required to support launch integration activities.

  • Requires ability to provide clear, concise, accurate, and timely communication, both verbally and written

  • Ability to interact professionally with coworkers, management, and customers

    Travel Requirements:

  • Requires ability to travel domestically (within the U.S.) <10%

    Physical Requirements:

  • Requires sitting for extended periods of time at a workstation / desk

  • Ability to climb stairs

  • Ability to lift >15 lbs.

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision, make rational decisions, and exercise good judgement
