What you'll do The Inpatient Nurse Manager provides management assistance on an assigned shift and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The Inpatient Nurse Manager assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs at the expert level. Contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork, assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state and federal law, and provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and a mentor. Assist the Director with elements of planning, organizing, controlling, climate setting, leadership, and operational duties. Promotes exceptional patient care. Oversees clinical nursing practice in order to follow best practices. Serves as a leader and mentor for clinical and non-clinical staff. Encourages professional development of staff. Assists in development of a positive team environment, Functions as a patient advocate. Corrects problems with staff through the use of communication, counsels as appropriate. Participates in the interview and selection process of new hires. Mediator between staff and physicians, Oversees orientation of new personnel. Provides adequate staffing for units. Quality data collection and reporting Scheduling of staff Filling in in staffing as needed Works on hospital and network committees Follows up on incident reports and patient complaints for unit. Performs other duties as requested. What we need from you Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree AAS in Nursing, required All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years.
