Bassett Healthcare Nurse Manager - Acute Care in Cobleskill, New York

What you'll do The Inpatient Nurse Manager provides management assistance on an assigned shift and is accountable for the delivery of safe patient care utilizing the nursing process. The Inpatient Nurse Manager assesses, plans, delivers, coordinates, integrates, and evaluates nursing care related to patient needs at the expert level. Contributes to the support of patients through interdisciplinary teamwork, assures that the care provided is consistent with applicable standards, regulations, statutes and state and federal law, and provides leadership to department staff, serving as a resource and a mentor. Assist the Director with elements of planning, organizing, controlling, climate setting, leadership, and operational duties. Promotes exceptional patient care. Oversees clinical nursing practice in order to follow best practices. Serves as a leader and mentor for clinical and non-clinical staff. Encourages professional development of staff. Assists in development of a positive team environment, Functions as a patient advocate. Corrects problems with staff through the use of communication, counsels as appropriate. Participates in the interview and selection process of new hires. Mediator between staff and physicians, Oversees orientation of new personnel. Provides adequate staffing for units. Quality data collection and reporting Scheduling of staff Filling in in staffing as needed Works on hospital and network committees Follows up on incident reports and patient complaints for unit. Performs other duties as requested. What we need from you Education: 2 Year / Associate Degree AAS in Nursing, required All RN’s hired and do not currently hold a BSN will be expected to demonstrate enrollment in a bachelor’s prepared nursing program within 4 years of hire. BSN must be completed within 10 years. RN’s licensed on or before 12/19/17 are/remain exempt from this requirement. 4 Year / Bachelor's Degree BSN, preferred Experience: Minimum one year acute care nursing experience required with charge nurse experience Licensure/Certifications: NYS Registered Nurse License, required Required Certification BLS, required Required Certification ACLS/ PALS, required Skills: Accountability Accuracy Attention to Detail Clinical Skills Multi-Tasking Manage People Physical Requirements: Medium Work - Exerting up to 50 lbs. for force occasionally, and/or up to 20 lbs. of force frequently, and/or up to 10 lbs. of force constantly to move objects Occasional crouching, lifting, pushing Frequent kneeling, standing, talking, walking Constant typing/clerical/dexteroty, hearing, seeing/monitor/computer use, fit testing Hazards: Frequent bodily fluids/bloodborne exposure Travel: Occasional Travel - The job may require travel from time- to-time, but not on a regular basis Total Rewards Bassett Healthcare Network’s commitment to our employees includes benefit programs carefully designed with the needs and values of all our employees in mind. Pay Transparency Salary is based on a variety of factors, including, but not limited to, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, training, and fair market evaluation based on industry standards. Pay Range Minimum: USD $95,058.82/Yr. Pay Range Maximum: USD $142,588.23/Yr.
