FT: Heavy Equipment Mechanic, Clymer ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following: Collaborate with Chief Mechanic and team members to ensure resort equipment and vehicles are performing optimally. Maintain, repair, and overhaul machinery such as groomers, snowmobiles, dozers, back hoes, tractors and vehicles. Perform routine maintenance including cleaning, lubrication, mileage checks and oil changes. Oversee inspection / registration process for resort equipment as required by New York State Law. Operate and inspect machinery and vehicles to diagnose defects. Diagnose faults or malfunctions to determine required repairs, using engine diagnostic equipment such as computerized test equipment and calibration devices. Test and replace electrical components and wiring, using test meters, soldering equipment, and hand tools. Examine parts for damage or excessive wear, using micrometers and gauges. Repair and replace damaged or worn parts, including but not limited to diesel engines, electrical systems, hydraulics, tune ups and brakes. Dismantle and reassemble heavy equipment using hoists and hand tools. Fit bearings to adjust, repair, or overhaul mobile mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic equipment. Test mechanical products and equipment after repair or assembly to ensure proper performance, operating efficiency and compliance with manufacturers' specifications. Confer with staff, users and vendors to discuss defective or unacceptable goods and determine corrective action. Record details of repairs made and parts used. Work with Purchasing Supervisor to maintain departmental inventory and order supplies. All other duties assigned.
