Osborn Consulting Director of Information Technology in Clyde Hill, Washington

Join Osborn Consulting's leadership as our Director of Information Technology (IT). This position will lead and manage our IT department to effectively meet Osborn's short- and long-term goals. Osborn's projects shape our daily lives, from neighborhood developments like parks and improved sidewalks, to flooding prevention and stormwater storage to keep communities safe from flooding during rainstorms. Our work builds relationships and trust with cities, counties, and agencies across Washington State. Responsibilities In this role you'll work closely with our Executive Team while directing a small group of IT professionals to: Strategic planning and technology vision: Working with Director of Excellence to develop a long-term roadmap for technology initiatives. Identifying emerging technologies, assessing potential impact, and formulating strategies to leverage them effectively. Understanding Osborn's goals and objectives to define a clear vision for technology implementation to drive growth, enhance operational efficiency, and maintain a competitive edge. Team management and leadership: Overseeing and guiding the IT department's personnel by fostering a collaborative and productive work environment. Providing direction, setting performance goals, and empowering team members to achieve their full potential. Effective communication, mentorship, and resource allocation. Ensuring the availability of skilled professionals, promoting teamwork and maximizing productivity to deliver successful technology outcomes. Budgeting and resource allocation: Managing the financial aspects of the IT department, including creating and overseeing the IT budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness, and allocating resources efficiently. Prioritizing investments, evaluating vendor contracts, and optimizing IT spending while considering Osborn's strategic objectives. Ensuring that technology initiatives are adequately funded, aligned with business needs and that they deliver value to Osborn - all while maintaining financial stability. Systems and Infrastructure Oversight: Ensuring the smooth operation and reliability of Osborn's technology infrastructure. Overseeing the design, implementation and maintenance of systems, networks, servers, and software. Ensuring optimal performance, scalability, and security of the infrastructure (while staying updated with technological advancements). Identifying areas for improvement. Implementing strategies to enhance Osborn's overall technological capabilities. Security and Compliance Assurance: Implementing and maintaining robust security measures to protect Osborn's information assets from cyber threats. Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards. Developing security policies and procedures. Conducting risk assessments and establishing incident response plans. Overseeing security awareness training and staying updated on the latest security trends to proactively address potential vulnerabilities and mitigate risks to Osborn's data and systems. Project Management and Delivery: Overseeing the planning, execution, and successful completion of technology projects. Defining project objectives, creating project plans, assigning tasks and monitoring progress to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget. Coordinating with stakeholders, managing resources, and mitigating risks to achieve project goals. Employing effective project management methodologies to ensure the smooth implementation of technology initiatives, innovation, and organizational growth. Vendor Management and Relationship Building: Selecting and managing technology vendors, negotiating contracts, and maintaining strong relationships with them. Ensuring that vendor solutions align with Osborn's needs, budget, and quality standards. Overseeing vendor performance, resolving issues, and facilitating effective communication.
