Management Connections Early Childhood Education Teacher Assistant II in Cloverdale, California

[Local Lake County Tribe is in need of an Early Childhood Education Assistant. The Center implements a dynamic, play-based curriculum that incorporates artistic and practical activities into the daily schedule. The Early Childhood Education Teacher Assistant will assist and support teaching staff in assigned classrooms with a schedule assigned based on the needs of the program upon hire.

  • Responsible for following all licensing regulations, policies and procedures, and any other educational requirements as applicable.
  • May supervise individual and small group activities for children as assigned.
  • Provide a pleasant, safe, and clean environment for children and staff.
  • Follow developmentally appropriate curriculum and activities for children.
  • Assist in providing childcare for parent activities when needed.
  • Responsible for observation and recordkeeping, when necessary, of assigned children.
  • Meet the individual needs and interests of children in relation to their cultural, social, and economic background.
  • Participate in the daily cleaning of the classroom, facility, and play yard areas (i.e., sweeping, mopping floors, sanitizing bathrooms, etc.).
  • Responsible for staying informed of future changes to position qualification requirements and maintaining a current professional development plan with assistance from supervising staff to prepare for upcoming position qualification requirements changes.
  • Attend scheduled meetings, training, and conferences as necessary.
  • Participate in regular reflective supervision sessions and self-assessments to promote ongoing professional development.
  • Report all concerns, observations, or information provided by a parent or guardian in a timely manner.
  • Participate in fire and earthquake drills.
  • Occasional interaction and contact with outside agencies, vendors, funders, volunteers, donors, and contributors.
  • May be required to escort or drive students under special or urgent circumstances.
  • Demonstrate sensitivity to Tribal history, lifestyle, and culture
