What You Will Do

  • Review, investigate, and develop appropriate recommendations regarding assigned Engineering projects.

  • Manage projects and serve as subject matter expert (SME) on large/complex site planning/construction, expansion, or modifications.

  • Provide guidance and counsel to the site management team on applicable processes, practices, and existing/proposed local, state and federal regulations.

  • Contribute to site strategic planning and budgeting efforts for designated Engineering areas.

  • Develop and evaluate AFE’s (Authorization for Expenditure) for capital funding requests.

  • May evaluate and administer contracts with vendors for the provision of services and equipment.

  • May represent the site on company sponsored steering committees, task forces, or teams.

  • Perform other duties as required.

What You Bring To Freeport

  • Bachelor's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and five (5) years of related experience in Engineering or a related field, OR

  • Master's degree in an appropriate Engineering discipline and three (3) years of related experience in Engineering or related field

  • Knowledge of the principles and practices of Engineering

  • Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty and draw valid conclusions.

  • Skill in managing large/complex Engineering projects.

  • Skill in effective communication, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to evaluate and implement new methods and techniques for operational improvement.

  • Ability to develop and maintain awareness of occupational hazards and safety precautions.

  • Skill in following safety practices and recognizing hazards.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree or Professional Engineering (PE) Certification

  • Supervisory Experience

  • Bluestake process knowledge

  • Exceptional interpersonal skills to interacting with diverse technical and no-technical teams

  • Experience as a project engineer or constructions manager leading the successful implementation of industrial civil construction projects including experience with pumping/piping, structural and mechanical systems

  • Experience in managing mulit-disciplinary industrial projects including scope development, cost estimating, scheduling, execution, construction oversight, and managing construction contractors

  • Proactive and self-motivated with excellent work ethic

  • Proficiency in MS Office, MS Project and AutoCAD

What We Offer You

The estimated annual pay range for this role is currently  $98,000-$137,000 . This range reflects base salary only and does not include bonus payments, benefits or retirement contributions. Actual base pay is determined by experience, qualifications, skills and other job-related factors. This role is eligible for additional discretionary and incentive payment considerations based on company and individual performance.
