The Sherwin-Williams Company Technician, Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing in Cleveland, Ohio

CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS: Incumbent will work in a team environment to accomplish all department responsibilities and tasks. Receive all incoming deliveries including operation of a fork-lift, and/or individual and team unloading. Fork-lift license is required, or willingness to obtain a fork-lift license with 30 days of hire. Maintain receipt and manifest logs of deliveries from freight carriers, parcel services, and internal Sherwin-Williams deliveries. Daily sorting and filing of USPS mail, and parcel deliveries to identify the most efficient delivery route through multiple buildings, using pallet jacks, dollies, delivery carts, and flat-bed carts. Packing and shipping of domestic and international packages, envelopes, freight, and mail for the entire site. Provide high quality customer service to all Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing customers, as well as coordinating timely deliveries and shipments based on their individual needs. Achieve and maintain a safe working environment by performing daily inspections of equipment including fork-lift, baler, pallet jack, utility carts, etc. and attending monthly site safety meetings. Purchasing responsibilities through Coupa approved vendors to maintain inventory and supplies for the Shipping, Receiving, and Warehousing department and janitorial contractor. Must be able to be trained and certified to pack and ship hazardous materials in accordance with DOT CFR 49 and IATA regulations including small packages and freight shipments, both domestic and International. Communicate with internal and external partners to meet necessary shipping protocols and deliver outstanding customer service. Serve as the main point of contact providing scheduling and oversight to various outside contractors that service the site. Responsible for scheduling maintenance, license plates, titles, registration renewals, and allocation of site fleet vehicles. Assist the facilities department with various projects as assigned. Perform handling, storing, shipping, and recording quantities for the site recycling program, and pallet inventory control. Responsible for warehousing duties including placing items on racking and retrieving stored items from racking. "Job duties include contact with other employees, operating heavy machinery, and access to proprietary information, raw materials, finished merchandise, and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS: Required: High School Diploma or GED KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIECE REQUIRED: Preferred: Hazardous materials background, air shipping / ICAO / IATA regulations knowledge, fork-lift operation 1+ years experience working in warehouse environment. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Must be able to sit, stand, hear, and see on a constant basis. Must be able to walk, write, and type on a frequent basis. Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and team lift up to 150 pounds. Must be able to climb and descend stairs. Must be able to bend, carry, reach, push, and pull on an occasional basis. Must be able to communicate verbally and in writing. May work indoors and outdoors as needed. Exposure to heat up to 120 degrees and cold to 0 degrees. May work in areas where noise level is such that hearing protection is required. May work in areas where toxic, flammable, and hazardous materials are present.
