MetroHealth SURGICAL SCHEDULER - Surgery Admin in CLEVELAND, Ohio

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 0800-1630

Summary:

Enhances the operational flow of the assigned surgical block schedules at the main campus, satellite operating rooms, and affiliated community partners. Schedules all appointments prior to and following surgery, securing necessary instrument trays, supplies for special cases, and insurance authorization. Works directly with patients, surgeons, and staff across the service line to improve efficiency in surgical scheduling, coordination of care between services, and optimal service delivery. Performs a variety of duties to support the department and assigned faculty members. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: High school graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Minimum three years of relevant experience. Proficient PC skills with Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Excellent writing and interpersonal skills. Excellent customer service skills. Demonstrated organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently within a team environment. Ability to effectively communicate with a diverse group of individuals. Reliable transportation to travel to surgical sites, as warranted.

Preferred: Associate’s or Bachelor’s Degree. Certified Administrative Professional (CAP). Experience in surgical scheduling. Related experience in a medical practice. Experience working in an educational/medical research setting. Medical terminology. Medical program coordination experience.

Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
