Supervisor - Central Sterile Processing

Location: METROHEALTH MEDICAL CENTER

Biweekly Hours: 80.00

Shift: 7-3:30, 7:30-4, 8-4:30

Summary:

Responsible for coordination of Preventative Maintenance and verification of Preventative Maintenance for all processing equipment of MetroHealth Medical System. Functions as a contact/resource person of CSPD for interdepartmental and MetroHealth systems sterilization processes and validation for record keeping for all preventative maintenance of processing equipment. Provides direct supervision in ordering reprocessing, maintenance, and re- ordering of instrumentation, supplies and equipment for the Ambulatory Clinics, within the healthcare facility. Oversees distribution of all Ambulatory Clinic instrumentation. Performs site visits at least once per year to audit instrumentation and meet with site Nurse Manager. Upholds the mission, vision, values, and customer service standards of The MetroHealth System.

Qualifications:

Required: High School graduate or passage of a high school equivalency exam. Four years of experience as a certified sterile processing technician. Five years combined experience in sterile processing or operating room. Tray tracking experience. Extensive knowledge base of the sterilization process and processing equipment. Excellent communication skills. Certification by a national agency in sterile processing within 6 months of employment.

Preferred: Supervisory Experience within a Processing Department. Experience and/or certification with Six Sigma/Lean Process.

Physical Demands: May need to move around intermittently during the day, including sitting, standing, stooping, bending, and ambulating. May need to remain still for extended periods, including sitting and standing. Ability to communicate in face-to-face, phone, email, and other communications. Ability to read job related documents. Ability to use computer.
