This position has the global responsibility for directing the development of a strategic vision and management of multiple categories & suppliers consisting of high profile & high complexity materials. Responsibilities include directing the development & strategic Procurement execution of strategies, monitoring market movements and negotiating agreements, working with a broad base of business groups, and resolving issues with suppliers. This position will work directly with senior executive leadership to develop and execute global long-term material strategies in support of Group growth initiatives and independently lead and execute through cross-functional strategic project teams. Essential Functions: This position has total responsibility for directing The global Procurement activities of TiO2, Pigments and Extenders for all business units in concert with Global Procurement's strategic plan Development and implementation of Regional & Global Category strategies and strategic Procurement alliances resulting in the best value (i.e., total cost, quality, service, innovation, sustainability & technical support). Developing & implementing policies and procedures which enhance and simplify the managing of the Procurement function at the headquarters, field and global level Coordinate the continuous improvement program of Supplier Performance Support all Sherwin-Williams Business Unit Clients in the purchases of TiO2, Pigments and Extender products at each of their facilities Likely may need to support one of the PCG BUs' and Architectural BU as a critical POD representative. In this capacity will likely need to serve as main Procurement contact for designated BU Client, facilitate BU Client/ Global Procurement business strategy alignment, provide Procurement centric information (FIM, market conditions, strategy shifts, etc.) and "Voice of Procurement" into BU Client organization, as well as, advocate for the BU Client into Procurement Department for key projects and initiatives This position is responsible for staffing, budgeting, organizing, and controlling the US Global Procurement TiO2, Pigment and Extender commodity areas. This position will have direct responsibility to develop, train and motivate subordinate personnel. POSITION CHALLENGES: Working cross-culturally and communicating with differing languages. High category complexity, SKU count and multiple single-sourced situations Volume and scope of issues that arise Changing priorities Limited direct resources and working through matrixed organization Delivery dependency on other divisions / functions Complexity and speed of everchanging business requirements across diverse, global business units POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering/Sciences/Business Management Preferred: Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Engineering/Sciences/Business Management KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: Strong work experience, with a breadth of knowledge and multi-functional expertise.
