Position Summary

The Rental Partner Coordinator is responsible for effectively leasing or subleasing sites or units of houses and apartments for our Youth and Young Adult Transition in Place (YYA TIP) program. This position is part of the Housing & Shelter Program's Housing Team. This position creates relationships with property owners and management companies and is the interface between Lutheran Metropolitan Ministry's (LMM's) housing programs and partners. The goal of the position is to ensure homelessness is brief, rare, and a one-time experience and avoid homelessness whenever possible through directly providing high quality and responsive housing navigation for Youth and Young Adults.

 

Some of the duties include:

  • Provides LMM's Youth and Young Adult Transition in Place (YYA TIP) with housing inventory through landlord relationships and site/unit searching
  • Forge and maintain relationships with property owners and management companies with goal of identifying rental units for housing program participants
  • Be the liaison between LMM Housing & Shelter and property management companies/owners to create and maintain partnerships with the goal of creating lasting partnerships to ensure a ready supply of units for use with LMM's housing program
  • Be responsible for all associate agreements and contracts with property managers and/or owners for leasing or subleasing units for housing programs
  • Work with housing team staff to determine site viability, negotiate on behalf of LMM's housing programs, provide contracts to leasing agents for completion, and close on leasing or subleasing sites or units for use
  • Stay up to date with market trends and rental rates to effectively maximize negotiations on behalf of LMM housing programs
  • Present professionally utilizing customer service skills to close deals with property owners in the community
  • Understand Cuyahoga Continuum of Care housing resources, e.g. Rapid Rehousing, Permanent Supportive Housing
  • Be responsible for input of all site and unit data for all reviewed locations; assists in reporting
  • Represent LMM at stakeholder meetings
  • Meet regularly with Housing Director and attend all required meetings of the housing team

     

Qualifications

Our ideal candidate has a High School Diploma or GED; Associate's/Bachelor's Degree preferred. Some experience working with people experiencing homelessness, veterans, people with substance use disorders, people with re-entry backgrounds, and/or other relevant social service populations, preferred. A Valid Ohio Driver's license and proof of insurance, required
