The Sherwin-Williams Company Process Engineer - Senior in Cleveland, Ohio

Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES AND TASKS Process Engineering Develops Process Flow Diagrams to support the design and automation for existing or new processes. Develops Value Stream Maps to determine rate limiting steps in a process. Defines the instrumentation requirements to support existing or new processes. Identifies and develops Engineering Standards. Serves as a subject matter expert in at least two areas within engineering. Identify innovative tools and processes - plan and execute on those opportunities. Support Provide technical support for Batching or Filling issues. Lead Accelerated Root Cause (ARC) to identify root cause. Develop and maintain relationships with internal or external partners. Identify innovation opportunities and champion development of new project proposals. Develop and/or lead training to support the development of field engineers. Project Management Project Lead for medium complexity projects, accountable for project success (scope, schedule, cost). Write functional specification. Develop cost estimates and vendor Request for Quotations (RFQ). Lead Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT). Lead and/or contribute to peer design review process. Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements to improve performance for existing processes. Contribute to at least $200K in annual savings. Innovation: Identify and implement innovations to existing systems, lead medium complexity innovation project POSITION REQUIREMENTS FORMAL EDUCATION: Required: BA or BS in Engineering or related field Preferred: BS in Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE: Required: 5 years' experience in engineering or related field. Ability to demonstrate roles with increasing responsibility. Preferred: Concurrently leads multiple significant project design and execution; significant project defined as value of $250k or greater. Knowledge of chemical batch manufacturing processes Lean six sigma experience or belt certification TECHNICAL/SKILL REQUIREMENTS: Required: Compose Functional Specifications and approve corresponding vendor bids. MS Visio, MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, MS Project, AutoCAD Portfolio and project management. Preferred: Certified with Continuous Improvement tools; 6 Sigma, Lean, and Root Cause Analysis. Knowledge of OSHA Process Safety Management 1910.119 Manufacturing environment experience.
