Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a local restaurant with 6 locations that are hiring for a Line Cook/Food prep position. Cities include: Mayfield, Beachwood, Downtown Cleveland, Lakewood, Independence, and Bedford. SUMMARY: Prepares all menu items according to recipes and specifications. Follows food safety and sanitation guidelines at all times. Actively participates in equipment maintenance and contributes to cleanliness of the entire kitchen area. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Sets up and stocks station with all necessary food items and supplies required for the shift. Cooks' food items to order using proper kitchen equipment -- pizza oven, fryer, broiler, flat top, stove top, oven, microwave. Minimizes waste by following approved cooking procedures. Accurately read all tickets and prepare menu items according to the recipes and specifications. Uses a sense of urgency when preparing menu items to ensure ticket time standards are met. Ensures accurate plating of all food items by maintaining proper portions according to recipes. Safely operate and maintain all kitchen equipment including but not limited to ovens, slicer, knives, pizza oven, broiler, fryer, flat top, etc. Maintains knowledge of daily and weekly food specials, seasonal menus, and menu changes through online training and testing. Maintains par levels of required food items while open for service, restocks items as needed. Store and rotate product according to Frist-In-First-Out (FIFO) practices. Uses scales, spoodles, and other utensils to accurately measure product according to company specifications. Completes all assigned prep work. Practices and maintains safe food handling and sanitation procedures at all times. Wears clean disposable gloves on both hands at all times when handling ready-to-eat foods. Maintains, cleans and sanitizes the work area during the shift. Cleans and sweeps floor through the shift. Reports issues that could negatively impact the shift such as low stock of product, faulty equipment, and safety hazards. Properly uses chemicals when cleaning and complies with MSDS regulations. Changes sanitizer water as needed. Completes opening and closing checklists for every shift. Completes daily side work and cleaning projects in an efficient manner as designated on a checklist or as assigned by a supervisor. Maintains the Company expectations of performance and behavior as established in the Employee Handbook. ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS: ? Mobility required during the entire shift ?
