Ohio Means Jobs Cleveland/Cuyahoga County is sourcing for a Food and Beverage Server for a local restaurant. This establishment has 6 locations in the Cleveland area including: Mayfield, Beachwood, Downtown Cleveland, Independence, Lakewood and Bedford.  SUMMARY: Responsible for taking and serving food and beverage orders from guests efficiently in a friendly manner. Minimum age requirement is 21. Full and Part time availability. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Promptly greets all new tables within 2 minutes of being sat with a smile and sincere and friendly greeting. Teams up with other servers when taking parties over 10 people. Alerts fellow team members or a manager when a customer has not been attended to. Identifies regular guests by name and introduces regulars to management. Verbally interacts with guests, creating a welcoming and friendly atmosphere. Monitors age requirements by asking for identification from all guests who appear under 30 years of age. Maintains knowledge of daily, weekly, and monthly food and beverage specials, including dessert offerings and seasonal menu items. Suggestively sells appetizers, desserts, the beer tour, and all weekly and monthly food and beverage specials. Takes guest food and beverage orders and accurately rings the order in the POS system. Delivers drinks to the table with correct garnish, if needed, in a timely fashion after getting the order from the guest. Prepares and delivers soups and/or salads within designated time after a guest orders. Presents all food and beverage items by name when delivering items to the guest. Uses serving trays to preserve the appearance of food and beverage items. Checks back with each table within 2 minutes after food is delivered to ensure guest satisfaction. Prepares and delivers desserts within a reasonable amount of time after being ordered. Makes certain all food and beverage items for guests are rung in prior to items leaving the expo or bar area. Pre-bus throughout the guests dining experience by removing trash and dishes, utensils and glassware from the table that will no longer be used. Completes cash and credit card transactions quickly from the time the guest submits payment. Anticipates and follows up with guests' needs by reading the guest and responds to those needs immediately. Clears and resets tables to standard in a timely fashion after the guest leaves. Monitors ticket times for food and beverage items and informs management of issues when necessary. Helps maintain great atmosphere by immediately informing a manager when a TV has a black screen or when a game ends. Assists other team members as needed. Sets restaurant up for success by completing opening, mid, and closing checklists for each shift worked. Completes daily, weekly, and monthly side work as designated on a checklist or assigned by a supervisor. Rolls silverware throughout the shift and informs the DMO when supply has depleted, and more needs washed. Maintains a clean dining room by ensuring tables, chairs, booths and floors are clean during the shift. Maintains current knowledge of the Winking Lizard beverage program by attending shift meetings and training seminars. Consistently runs food from expo to guests or host during the entire shift when time allows. Gets a manager for all guests with a winning Keno ticket, does not pay out any winning ticket amount from tips. Maintains POS equipment by using fingers to ring in food items. Does not use pens, credit cards, and other miscellaneous items to ring in orders. Properly uses chemicals when cleaning and complies with MSDS regulations.
