Actalent Mechanical Engineer in Cleveland, Ohio

Job Title: Mechanical EngineerJob Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our dynamic team. This position involves evaluating sales order requirements and specifications to configure or develop innovative solutions. You will work closely with Sales, Electrical Engineers, Drafting, Assembly, Procurement, and field technicians to ensure the successful completion of projects.

Responsibilities

  • Evaluate and assess sales order requirements and specifications to develop solutions.

  • Collaborate with Sales and potentially customers to resolve requirements.

  • Work with Electrical Engineers and Drafting to produce customer drawings.

  • Serve as the technical lead on assigned projects.

  • Coordinate with internal groups such as Assembly, Procurement, and field technicians during start-up to resolve issues.

  • Approve project release to Manufacturing.

  • Address issues encountered during build and test phases with Assembly and Test departments.

  • Participate as part of a project team to deliver cost-effective, manufacturable designs.

  • Provide updates on project status and timeline.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.

  • Over 5 years of experience in designing and developing products in the electromechanical space.

  • Experience with development, design, and engineering of mechanical/electrical systems using both 2D and 3D CAD software (Creo preferred).

  • Experience with OEM design activities using mechanical design software packages and 3D modeling software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic electrical concepts such as current carrying capability of conductors, ampacity, and electrical spacing requirements.

  • Experience with electrical testing.

  • Customer experience.

  • Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) experience.

  • Professional Engineer (PE) License.

  • Understanding of seismic, wind, and vibration calculations.

Work Environment

You will work in an office environment currently attached to a manufacturing floor, relocating to a new office down the road in a few months. You will be part of a team of four other engineers, spending 90% of your day at a desk and 10% on the manufacturing floor.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.00 - $58.00/hr.
