For more information, visitwww.momentivetech.com Material Group Leader (Quartz) As a Material Group Leader, you will play a key role in shaping the future of innovation within a rapidly growing research and development team. You'll be at the forefront of introducing cutting-edge materials, driving the technical evolution of material purification processes, and ensuring the highest standards through material qualification. In addition, you'll provide crucial technical support to manufacturing teams and lead exciting supplier development initiatives. Job Description: Develop new materials sources and translate existing materials into new applications utilizing technical expertise inmaterials, glass science, mineral processing, or chemical engineering to meet new market/application demands. Lead process improvement projects on purification processes with cross-functional teams and external validation partners. Responsibilities include IP research, voice of customer and customer requirement determination, feasibility testing, prototyping, gauge development, pilot testing, cost analysis and scale up to manufacturing. Apply project management skills in planning, budgeting, time management, resource allocation, and risk management. Generate intellectual properties such as patents, publications, and internal reports. Also, support commercial and manufacturing team. Responsible for new process development in high purity sand and tungsten for the fused quartz business Apply Six Sigma type methodology, statistical, surface and materials characterization tools for process improvement, failure analysis and troubleshooting. Minimum Qualifications: Degree in Material Science, Glass Science, Mineral processing, or Chemical engineering 5+ years of hands-on experience providing significant contributions to a team Managerial experience working with small technical team Proficient in statistical design and analysis of experimental data including design of experiment, hypothesis testing and Gage R&R. Project management experience - effective planning and prioritization of projects of significant business impact to deliver new product/process technologies. Proven ability to collaborate with manufacturing, supplier, and customer to accomplish project objectives on time and within budget. Ability to do hands-on work in an industrial environment with necessary PPE and interact and influence in a matrixed environment. Experience working with statistical software such as Minitab. A strong sense of accountability, urgency, and self-direction. Preferred Qualifications: Expertise in sand beneficiation, hot chlorination, calcination, & other mineral processin
