Robert Half Legal Secretary in Cleveland, Ohio

Description We are in search of a Legal Secretary to join our team in Cleveland, Ohio. This role involves a range of tasks including reviewing legal documents, coordinating meetings, and managing schedules and billing for attorneys. As a Legal Secretary, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our legal team.

Responsibilities:

• Answer and manage correspondence and phone calls effectively

• Assist in the preparation of legal documents, ensuring accuracy and timeliness

• Coordinate and schedule meetings, ensuring all necessary materials are prepared and organized

• Maintain and update legal practice management software with accurate data entries

• Review and finalize correspondence, incorporating revisions as necessary

• Support team projects, contributing to successful completion and outcomes

• Manage attorneys' calendars and billing, ensuring all tasks and deadlines are met and accurately recorded

• File pleadings, motions, and affidavits, adhering to all relevant deadlines

• Prioritize tasks and responsibilities to ensure efficient operations of the legal office

• Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth workflow and effective communication. Requirements • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

• Proven experience in a legal secretary role

• Knowledge of legal terminology, regulations and court system

• Knowledge of litigation procedures, including the filing of documents and the discovery process

• Experience in civil litigation

• Proficient typing and transcription skills

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• Strong ability to organize and prioritize tasks effectively for timely completion

• Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines

• High level of discretion and confidentiality for both clients and firm

• Ability to work independently and as a part of a team

• High attention to detail and excellent problem-solving skills

• Excellent interpersonal skills and professional demeanor

• Willingness to continue learning and improving legal knowledge and skills.
