The Sherwin-Williams Company Lead Data Analyst in Cleveland, Ohio

The Lead Data Analyst - Enterprise Data will be responsible for sourcing and certifying data to enable the overarching goals of the Enterprise Data Repository (EDR). The incumbent will be responsible for supporting the assessment, design, and monitoring of an enterprise data repository. They will work with a team of subject matter experts across the IT organization to source and certify data for inclusion in the EDR. They will be tasked with understanding key business imperatives and translating them into data requirements. The incumbent will need to gain an understanding of the data ecosystem at Sherwin-Williams including the interplay of manufacturing, supply chain, and commercial behavior. They will be responsible for supporting the stated goals of the Enterprise Data Organization. Strategy & Planning Work with SMEs and IT peers to research, review, and recommend data and datasets that are fit for purpose. Partner with the business and other IT groups to understand, document and source data. Work with the Data Governance Team to ensure that governance objectives align with EDO strategy. Work with business representatives to understand needs and collaborate in generating the best solution to solve business needs. Drive best in class data engineering practices that include standard software development life cycle practices. Acquisition & Deployment Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses for IT spending and initiatives. Collaborate with source system teams to effectively synchronize data elements while reducing dual storage requirements as much as possible. Collaborate with downstream systems to ensure data is understood and meets the requirements of consumers. Liaise with vendors for efficient implementation of agreed upon deliverables. Operational Management Ensure all Global Data Privacy obligations are met in compliance with current company policy. Assist with staffing, performance and resource management, and strategic direction of the team. Reduce complexity and cost. Ensure cooperation with peer functional areas. Incidental Functions Assist with other projects as may be required to contribute to the efficiency and effectiveness of the organization and other business/technical entities. Formal Education & Certification Bachelor's degree (or foreign equivalent) in a Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Information Technology field of study (e.g., Information Technology, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Computer Systems Management, Mathematics) or equivalent experience. Knowledge & Experience Required 12+ years of IT experience 8-10 years of experience with Analytics tools, construction, and maintenance Experience providing direction, development, and implementation of software solutions Familiarity with common data integration and engineering tools and techniques Experience with data warehousing and database constructs Demonstrated track record of success with increasing responsibility and accountability Demonstrated ability to clearly communicate with all levels of management, IT and Business General knowledge and proficiency in common query languages like SQL Preferred Knowledge & Experience Not Required: Detailed understanding of data flows across SW internal systems Experience working with various Business Teams and ability to translate their requirements into IT action plans Familiarity with SW Master Data Management tools and methodologies (PIM, CDI, MPS, CPR, PDH, etc.) as well as SW BI tools (Tableau, MicroStrategy, Business Objects, etc.) Prior experience in the data analytics space.
