Laboratory Sales Manager I - Columbus and west Cleveland territory.

As a Laboratory Sales Manager, you will manage overall territory with accountability for generating new and existing business revenue. Caregivers in this role establish long-term account relationships with physician practices, selling laboratory services, developing and leading specific account strategies, managing all aspects of new sale activities, and account retention and growth.

The territory for this role is Columbus and the west side of Cleveland. You will be provided with a company car, iPhone, iPad, and laptop.

This is a base salary role with no variable compensation component at this time.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

  • Generate new business opportunities through one's own initiative and where necessary, utilize the support and direction of the medical director, division administrator and director.

  • Develop and maintain a high level of understanding of the relevant product line and promote services to target clients within assigned territory.

  • Manage the sales process from initial opportunity through the securing of the client and ensure successful client conversion.

  • Plan overall sales and service activities to provide an effective and efficient use of time.

  • Develop and implement action plans to increase customer base, volume and market presence.

  • Interface as needed with project managers, operations, and marketing and sales teams to ensure customer requirements are met on a timely basis and for the purpose of coordinating all ongoing client retention and growth activities.

  • Contribute to sales meetings and presentations.

  • Attend training courses.

  • Develop and maintain knowledge and experience of relevant methods and technologies.

  • Adhere to all rules and regulations (e.g., written or implied).

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, medical technology, healthcare or a related field.

  • Valid driver's license (VDL) with four or fewer points and ability to drive.

  • Three years of experience in a laboratory or healthcare environment with demonstrated success in sales, marketing or customer service. An additional 10 years of experience may substitute the bachelor's degree requirement.

  • Excellent human relations, management and communication skills.

  • Accountable, adaptable, flexible, creative, dependable, responsible and able to perform well within multifunctional environments and be customer focused.

  • Ability to manage several projects or tasks simultaneously and to exercise appropriate judgment when prioritizing projects.

  • Ability to function and work in a diverse work environment while adhering to Cleveland Clinic and departmental policies providing direction to clients in a concise, sensitive, informational and professional manner.

  • Keeping a positive and courteous tone, particularly in adversarial discussions.

  • Keeping abreast of regulatory issues, reimbursement issues, and service requirements.

  • This position requires you to work from an office in your home located within an assigned territory. 80% travel is required.

Physical Requirements:

  • Travel is required. Must have the ability to travel extensively on all forms of major public transportation.

  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate office equipment.

  • May require extended periods of sitting, standing and walking.

  • Must be able to walk to conduct client visits and to attend meetings.

  • Must have normal or corrected vision to normal range.

  • Ability to clearly communicate by phone and in person.

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.

Pay Range

Minimum hourly: $36.80

Maximum hourly: $56.13

The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. While the pay range is displayed as an hourly rate, Cleveland Clinic recruiters will clarify whether the compensation is hourly or salary. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set, and education.
