Howmet Aerospace Financial Analyst in Cleveland, Ohio
Under the direction of the Plant Controller, this position is responsible for performing financial analysis and reporting for the Aerospace and Wheels businesses as it relates to fixed assets and purchasing at Cleveland Operations. This position does not directly supervise other personnel. The incumbent communicates continually with all levels of personnel across all departments at Cleveland Operations. Externally, they communicate with the Business Unit and occasionally with charitable organizations and vendors.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Assisting in performing internal audits for Cleveland Operations’ Financial and Business processes.
Performing financial analysis for departmental and Business Unit activities within Cleveland Operations.
Monitoring spending levels and providing appropriate feedback to the Operations Department.
Providing general accounting support for Cleveland Operations by ensuring that appropriate internal controls are in place, Corporate Policies are followed, account reconciliations are completed, and aged items are monitored until resolution.
Providing support during the monthly closing process.
Assisting in the performance of metal and fixed asset physical inventory as required by Howmet Aerospace Corporate offices.
Reporting the P&L Statement to the Cleveland Operations Lead Team and select Business Unit personnel, as directed.
Performing other duties as assigned.
For this position to be successful, the incumbent should have:
A Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business from an accredited institution.
Minimum 1 year of financial analysis experience.
Minimum 3 years of Accounting Experience
This position is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR), which requires U.S. person status. ITAR defines U.S. person as an U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. ‘Green Card Holder’), Political Asylee, or Refugee.
Preferred Qualifications
For this position to be successful, preference is given to candidates with:
3 or more years of financial analysis & accounting experience.
3 or more years’ experience with manufacturing, & inventory.
A commitment to continuous learning and an eagerness to develop professionally.
The ability to effectively communicate (verbally and written) and delegate while maintaining forward motion on key deliverables.
Proficiency in using Excel to manipulate large data sets.
Working Conditions
This position involves minimal exposure to risk of accident. Work is normally performed in an interior work environment. While not exposed to hazardous materials, this position requires wearing full PPE to protect from mobile equipment and hot materials when on the shop floor.
This position requires light physical activity, such as walking, standing, and sitting for extended periods of times.
This position also requires a willingness to maintain a flexible work schedule.
