Case Western Reserve University Executive Director, Office of Medical Education in Cleveland, Ohio

POSITION OBJECTIVE 

The Executive Director for the Office of Medical Education serves as the chief financial and operations officer for Medical Education in the School of Medicine at Case Western Reserve University. This position is a senior level, non-academic staff position that works closely with all levels of the Case Western Reserve University administration and stakeholders to advance the strategic and financial priorities within medical education. 

This position will function as a senior advisor and decision support strategist to the vice dean for medical education that includes (1) working with the vice dean on strategic planning and benchmarking progress relative to peers; (2) aligning budget with strategic initiatives ranging from departmental through university-level priorities; (3) directing financial planning, reporting and forecasting and ensuring that medical education resources have maximal impact in meeting our mission; (4) constructing policies for promoting equitable practices and distribution of resources; (5) supporting human resources to align with priorities, advancement, and staff success; (6) overseeing the use of facilities and space to align with educational priorities; and (7), directing efficient business operations through effective supervision and professional advancement of operational staff (budget, space, strategic initiatives), and through efficient workflows and transfer of information. 

This position partners with the Vice Dean for Medical Education to set the overall strategy for growth and manage the business and services of the School of Medicine Medical Education Programs (MD programs, the MD/Ph.D. program, the Physician Assistant (PA) program, the Certified Anesthesia Assistant program (MSA), and other potential programs (e.g., a Physical Therapy Doctorate. This position is responsible for the overall management and strategic leadership of the day-to-day operations throughout Medical Education. The Executive Director drives execution of operational components of the business plan and strategy across all units, which includes:

This position is responsible for promoting a student-centric and human-centric culture creating a work environment where everyone can flourish while also defining models of education operations to achieve the highest quality and financial outcomes while driving operational efficiency. This position is accountable for representing and promoting the Medical Education programs and the School of Medicine at the highest standards and using strategy to promote alignment between the clinical and academic missions. This position directly manages talent management to align staffing levels, positions, and organizational structures within the changing educational environment to assure the best use of limited financial and human capital resources. This position will also maintain continuous mindfulness of the requirements for the different program accreditation boards and processes
