Periodic telework may be available, as determined by operational need. The United States Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District of Ohio is accepting applications for the position of Case Management and Automation Support Specialist. The court is comprised of 50 clerk's office staff, eight judgeships, and their chambers staff. The court serves the 40 northernmost counties in the State of Ohio, with locations in Akron, Canton, Cleveland, Toledo, and Youngstown. The Case Management and Automation Support Specialist performs docketing, maintains official case records, reviews filed documents to determine conformity, and takes appropriate action to ensure that all orders and automated entries are appropriately and accurately docketed. Additionally, the incumbent provides support and assistance with audio/video systems, hardware, software, and data issues. The Case Management and Automation Support Specialist reports to the Deputy Clerk in Charge in the Cleveland division. Representative Duties: · Assist with the orderly flow of proceedings, including but not limited to, setting up the courtroom, and managing exhibits. Take notes of proceedings, rulings, notices, and prepares minute entries electronically. Process requests for transcripts and audio recordings. · Perform case management work. Review filed documents to determine conformity and take appropriate action and follow up with rules, practices, and filing requirements. Docket orders, pleadings, judgments, and minutes as directed by local court policy, utilizing applicable automated systems. Review the quality of electronically filed documents, ensuring that all orders and automated entries are appropriately and accurately docketed, and make summary entries on the docket of all documents and proceedings. Prepare correspondence regarding file inquires, docket sheets, and other file request information. · Manages petitions filed manually and enters them into the automated case management system. · Greet the public, attorneys, and visitors to the court, whether in person or over the telephone, in a courteous, patient, and professional manner. Provide accurate answers to questions regarding the docket or general court information to both internal and external customers. · Operate a variety of copying and records equipment. Prepare case files for tracking records. Assist the public in use of computerized databases. Provide basic information to public, bar, and the court. · Informs customers of required fees. Receive payments and issues receipts. Secure funds in cash register. Balance cash draw at the end of the day. Process credit card payments for filed documents. · Assist with the day-to-day operation of applicable technology used in the court to ensure reliable and effective operation. Perform requisite programming to systems to accommodate local needs. · Coordinates with the IT Department regarding information technology issues. · Troubleshoot devices at the hardware level, such as serial or hardware device level interfaces. This may include controlled distribution systems and wireless systems. Configure devices and systems for proper operation using available software and hardware and via remote support from vendors. · Provide training and user support activities including initial and ongoing training for staff and users, instruction on all systems and computer applications, and respond to user questions. · Operate a variety of copying and records equipment.
