CAD Manager ID 2024-1923 Job Locations US-OH-Columbus | US-OH-Cleveland Workplace Type Hybrid Overview CAD Manager Columbus, OH, or Cleveland, OH Job Summary As part of our Infrastructure Sector, the CAD Manager will have the opportunity to support CAD production and quality improvements across multiple technical disciplines in transportation, surveying, civil engineering and utility engineering. The CAD Manager position plays a crucial role in overseeing the use of CAD software, technical training, technology maintenance, and ensuring the smooth operation of design and survey projects. This position ensures that all CAD-related activities align with the company's standards, vision, and objectives. The CAD Manager will oversee the creation and maintenance of CAD designs, ensure the highest quality of drawings, and streamline processes for efficiency and innovation. Responsibilities Essential Functions: Manage and Supervise CAD Operations: Oversee the use of CAD software and hardware tools within Woolpert's transportation, civil engineering and surveying disciplines. Develop and Implement Standards: Create and enforce CAD standards and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality across all projects across the design and surveying disciplines. Training and Support: Train and guide team members in the effective use of CAD software, providing ongoing support and troubleshooting. System Maintenance: Liaison with Information Technology (IT) support on licensing and system version control ensuring the maintenance and upgrading of CAD solutions align with technological advancements, including hardware and software solutions. Collaboration: Work closely with project managers and design teams to understand project requirements and deliver high-quality designs. Quality Control: Review and approve designs and drawings before they are finalized and released. File Management: Manage the storage and accessibility of CAD files, ensuring they are organized and secure. Stay Updated: Maintain the latest CAD software and technology trends to continuously improve the CAD processes. CAD Production: Support design and survey production process for CAD deliverables on a variety of project types. Innovation: Work to improve and introduce procedures, workflows, routines, and CAD innovations to improve ease of design, quality and efficiency Qualifications Required Qualifications and Skills: Experience: Proven work experience as a CAD Manager or in a similar role. Software Proficiency: Strong knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D suite and add-ons, and Bentley OpenRoads Designer. Project Management Skills: Excellent project management skills to handle multiple projects and deadlines. CAD Version Compliance: Knowledge on compatibility of the various versions of CAD and different state standards. Technical Knowledge: Good understanding of drafting techniques and engineering terminologies. Leadership Skills: Strong leadership and mentoring abilities to guide and develop the CAD team. Attention to Detail: Keen eye for detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all designs. Flexibility: Ability to change tactics and direction when needed to solve problems. Preferred Qualifications: 10+ years related experience. Experience with both Autodesk and Bentley products. Experience working in a civil engineering or surveying field. Physical Qualifications: Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. Must be able to operate and manipulate standard office equipment. Must be able to occasionally reach, bend, climb and/or balance. Must be able to frequently lift and/or move 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds.
