Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Cleveland, Ohio

Description We are seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk for a role based in Cleveland, Ohio. This role will be primarily focused on handling tasks related to accounts payable and credit management for a leading telecom provider. The position offers a contract employment opportunity, with a hybrid remote work schedule, providing the flexibility to work from home once the initial training period in the office is completed.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and coordinate analysis and reporting that aligns with the needs of the Accounting and Operations team.

• Gain an understanding of customer deductions/disputes and the related accounting transactions and journal entries.

• Manage the expected vendor returns account and collaborate with Accounts Payable to resolve aged, anticipated returns.

• Provide guidance to the Accounting Operations team on routine and complex vendor, customer, and accounting issues.

• Support the financial close process to ensure the timely, accurate preparation of financial statements consistent with U.S GAAP and company policies & procedures.

• Utilize available resources such as Sage Intacct, Metabase and related SQL report writing tools to conduct analysis and manage requirements.

• Test new system functionality as it relates to Accounting Operations.

• Participate in physical inventories as assigned.

• Utilize computer skills to process purchase orders and perform data entry tasks. Requirements • Possess strong computer skills, with proficiency in popular software applications such as Microsoft Office Suite.

• Experience in handling purchase orders and ensuring they are processed in a timely manner.

• Ability to perform data entry tasks accurately and efficiently.

• Proven ability to manage accounts payable tasks, including invoicing, budget tracking, and financial reporting.

• Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.

• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with vendors and internal teams effectively.

• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and best practices.

• Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive financial information.

• High school diploma or equivalent required; additional qualifications in Finance, Business or related field will be considered a plus.
