Hubbard Broadcasting Vice President of Engineering Operations in Clearwater, Florida

Position : Vice President of Engineering Operations

Location : Clearwater, FL

Exceptional working knowledge of broadcast technology and broadcast equipment.

Excellent computer/IT skills, including thorough understanding of networking, subnets, and IP configuration

Expert level understanding of audio, visual, and graphics systems used in a television mobile production unit.

Exceptional skills in maintenance and troubleshooting all equipment used in a television mobile production unit.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.

Knowledge of the special requirements needed for National "multi-show" productions for cable & networks.

Strong negotiating and project management skills - experience in scheduling manpower and ability to manage budgets.

Must be able to work well under pressure & meet deadlines.

Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel.

Knowledge of Media Pulse software preferred.

Will be contacted after hours and/or on weekends in the event of a show emergency.

Education and Experience : 15+ years of experience in remote broadcast engineering 8+ years in management BA/BS in Engineering or other advanced technical degree preferred.

Prior experience with large scale project management jobs Airline travel required; possess or be willing to acquire a U.S. passport. Participate in client-requested background checks when assigned to shows that require it.

Minimum of 5+ years remote television operations experience;

Physical Requirements: Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer. Must be able to lift up to 35 pounds at times.

Work directly with the President and General Manager. Responsible for (but not limited to):

Directly work with Engineers to identify critical and ongoing technical issue with each mobile unit and develop an action outlining solutions for repair/maintenance;

Develop operational efficiencies, cost control strategies, technological enhancements and customer service initiatives crucial to the growth of the business;

Scheduling of engineers and operations;

Evaluate all engineering parts and supplies purchase order requests;

Review monthly maintenance engineering expenses/budget;

Review and approval of all weekly engineering expense reports;

Review various engineering invoices;

Recommend annual engineering maintenance budget;

Pursue and recommend new technologies by manufactures and vendors;

Work closely with Operations to ensure adequate allocation of resources to projects;

Negotiate rental and shipping prices when needed in order to obtain the best rates;

Prepare requisitions for purchases;

Oversee travel to/from F&F events;

Complete performance reviews for engineering and operations employees;

Approval of engineering and operations timecards in ADP;

Tracking day count employees progress to end of year target number throughout the year;
