This position is for the Engineering Manager of the Defense Aircraft Navigation Missionizations Software Engineering team reporting to Engineering Director for Navigation Software team within the Sensing, Guidance, & Navigation Center of Excellence (SGN COE).
Key Responsibilities
Employee engagement – all aspects of people leadership including hiring, expectation setting, coaching, career development and performance management, team building
Program execution - managing cost and schedule, staffing supply and demand management
Department operations - identify and implement improvements to engineering execution speed and efficiency, including implementing common standards, processes, and tools

YOU MUST HAVE
A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or related degree
8+ years engineering development experience with a focus on real time software engineering
2+ years developing real time software
Due to export controls, candidate must be a US citizen and have the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD clearance

Demonstrated leadership experience in coordinating and overseeing entry to senior level professionals, including a track record of improving team performance and work practice through team coaching
Proven track record of successfully leading technically complex development projects and transitions to production
Proven track record to execute multiple projects while meeting customer expectations
Ability to consistently make timely decisions and balancing systematic analysis with decisiveness, even in the face of complexity

Collaborative work with cross functional partners enabling teams to exceed expectations on work delivery and timelines
Inertial sensing and navigation domain knowledge
Aerospace or similar safety critical industry experience
Knowledge of software configuration management and change management practices
Beneficial relevant experience

Agile or SAFE-Agile
DevOps tools & processes (GIT/Bitbucket, Jira, Collaborator, Confluence, Bamboo)
Six Sigma development methodology
