Summary

The purpose of this position is to ship and receive. Inspect shipments and trailers and weigh all incoming eggs. Supply processing department with eggs. Receive and inspect other miscellaneous freight, packages and supplies.

Key Responsibilities

  • This position is responsible for loading and unloading trucks, weighing incoming eggs, documentation of quality and lot tracking issues related to incoming eggs. Responsible for maintaining inventory and control shell egg rotation.
  • Inspect and sign for incoming product, packages and supplies. Reject when necessary.
  • Coordinates and stores materials/supplies while maintaining segregation of clean and dirty materials.
  • Complete and maintain compliance for all required paperwork. Complete corrective actions when necessary.
  • Transport eggs from cooler to staging area for processing.
  • Assist as needed during breaks and cleanup.
  • Clean cooler with floor scrubber and maintain clean environment at all times.

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Daybreak Foods, Inc. will train.
  • Ability to read, speak and write in English is required.
  • Ability and willingness to learn computer skills.
  • Powered pallet jack and/or forklift experience required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge in food safety and egg quality is desirable.
  • Monitor and comply with food safety and GMP policies.
  • Knowledge of proper safety procedures.
  • Must be able to read and follow written instruction, policies and procedures.
  • Positive team oriented attitude.
  • Able to train others.

Physical Demands

Stand and walk constantly; grip, grasp, push, pull, reach, bend, stoop, lift up to 60 pounds frequently; sit, climb, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally. Must be able to climb up to 150ft by ladder.

Work Environment

Frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts and airborne particles. Employee may work in outside environment where temperatures vary seasonally. Clothing must be worn based on seasonal weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Certain areas may be loud enough to require ear protection. All personal protective equipment will be provided and required during certain working conditions and in certain areas. The employee is occasionally exposed to high places.
