About the Department

You will be joining Fill & Finish Expansions (FFEx), which is responsible for all major expansion activities within aseptic production, solid dosage forms, finished products, fill & finish warehousing, and QC across all production areas in Product Supply. The area is anchored in Product Supply, Quality & IT, which globally employ approx. 20,000 of Novo Nordisk’s 50,000 employees.

FFEx is a newly established and growing area with the responsibility to design, plan, and build all new aseptic filling capacity across Novo Nordisk to serve the needs of millions of patients. We do it by rethinking our production facilities with the use of modern technology, as we are setting the standards for the aseptic production of the future. We are seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Training Specialist to join our team. As a Training Specialist, you will play a crucial role in developing training plans, assisting leadership develop the team, field test and preform process confirmations and ensuring that our processes are not only efficient but also aligned with LEAN principles. You will have the chance to travel internationally, collaborate with various departments/ internationally, and help shape the future of our organization.

The Position

Responsible for production employee training to include on-the-job training, skills training, & some classroom training in production areas. Participates in the development & implementation of new training programs & may introduce new processes & sequences for manufacturing areas. Performs audits to measure the effectiveness of training programs. May monitor trainees & re-train employees affected by process changes.

Manager, FP or AP.

Essential Functions

  • Assess employee training & job competencies

  • Ensure new employees are adequately trained before the employee is released to work independently on the processes

  • Ongoing validation of employee competencies on the job & assess if further/repeat training is required & make recommendations to management

  • Coordinates with production managers & other teams on training plan execution & priorities

  • Weekly planning to ensure resources are in place to execute the cycle plan

  • Ensures documentation of training related material in QMS, to include recording & proper filing

  • Ensure tracking & reporting of KPI’s

  • Communication of employee training status with management

  • Responsible for ensuring department documents are current & standardized

  • Supports training & development initiatives

  • Ensure data integrity of on-the-job training documentation

  • Provides input to management in employee performance evaluation

  • Follows all safety & environmental requirements in the performance of duties

  • Other accountabilities, as assigned

    Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Operation and Process Support:

    Assist with Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), Site Acceptance Testing (SAT), Process Validation (PV), and Performance Qualification (PQ).

    • Conduct process confirmations to verify compliance with processes and training effectiveness.

  • Training and Development

    • Coach, train, and mentor shop floor employees to develop skills and competencies.

    • Develop comprehensive training plans, including Job Qualification Records (JQR) for various roles.

    • Assess employee training effectiveness, validate job competencies, and recommend further or repeat training when required.

  • Document Creation and Management

    • Field test and validate job instructions to ensure usability and accuracy.

    • Ensure all training-related documentation is current, standardized, and properly filed in Quality Management Systems (QMS).

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration

    • Coordinate with production managers and other teams to prioritize and execute training plans effectively.

    • Support leadership teams in developing future state strategies for the team.

  • Training Performance Monitoring and Reporting

    • Track and report training Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

    • Communicate employee training status and progress with management.

    • Provide input to management during employee performance evaluations.

  • Training Material and Program Development

    • Demonstrate knowledge of adult learning methodologies and apply diverse training techniques.

    • Develop new training materials to support operational needs.

    • Support ongoing training and development initiatives to improve workforce capabilities.

  • International Travel

    • Ability to travel internationally to support training initiatives and process alignment.

    Physical Requirements

    Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Strap & unstrap pallets using hands. Must be able to be on your feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/20 or 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. May perform critical job functions in extremely cold work environments depending on site. May position oneself within confined spaces for inspection if required of the role. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. May be required to secure a motorized vehicle license & operate a motorized vehicle based on the role.

    Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a business or technical field preferred or equivalent combination of education & experience required

  • Minimum of five (5) years of manufacturing experience in a regulated environment preferred

  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in administering training programs &/or development of training programs preferred

  • Ability to read & understand standard operating procedures & various training formats with great attention to detail required

  • Computer literacy, experience with Microsoft Office suite applications required

  • Ability to organize, coordinate, & track multiple tasks & events, work in an orderly & methodical manner, ability to effectively prioritize assignments & ability to visually depict information & data to support & facilitate decision-making preferred
